It took me a while, but I finally got all my flights in. Now, how long do I wait before I get the poster?
|
flight memory is great!
Is there a way to download your stats from the site once entered? |
If you go to the german version: http://www.flugstatistik.de you can print nicely formatted PDF versions of your flight log and statistics, just click on "Druckansicht" on the respective pages.
|
I hate to be stupid here, but I'm wondering how people are getting the personal web links. I've tried using my username with the my.flightmemory..., but I just get the login page and I'm not seeing anything on either the English or German pages where I can generate a my-link. Where am I missing it?
Thanks! This is a fun site, though I've only managed to input back through 2006 so far. It *is* time consuming, but fun to see. |
Go to your profile and activate the public stats.
|
That did it! Thanks Kiwi Flyer!
|
I'm happy I've kept track of all my flights so far (148), and this is much better than a spreadsheet. But www.flightmemory.com would be even better if we could also enter further information, such as booking class or stopovers. And the maps are tiny!
But it's free of charge and a great tool, so I guess we must be thankful for it... |
Woohoo! I can track all my flights now. But, I am still going to keep my boarding passes/itins because nothing beats the real deal.
Speaking of which, how do I prevent these boarding passes (thermal printed?) from fading??!?! :D |

The site has been horribly slow this evening. I have five pages of United.com printouts that I wanted to enter, but it's taking 3+ minutes for each page.

Could it be that it doesn't recognise members of Flight Memory? It seemed to accept my username and password, though. Thanks. |

I speak basic German, but I'm afraid I can't handle this website. It doesn't seem to work the same way as www.flightmemory.com. When I click on Vorschau (Flightdata) it doesn't give me the option to enter any new flights. And instead of Statistics, what I get is Registrieren, which I already did. And no sign of Druckansicht...

That's where you can enter more flights and also get a printed list of all flights you've taken via the "Druckansicht" button. You then get a warning that it may take a little while to compile the PDFs, and to wait a bit after clicking the button marked "Druckansicht erstellen". Same deal on the flightmap/statistics page marked "Statistik". |
This is so fun! I am going to waste so much time setting this up, thanks!^

the joy of thermal paper is well-documented. the best option is to use plain paper (which doesn't "disappear), or have a soft-copy of the document on your PDA/usb key, which you can then retrieve at a lounge, poerhaps

Vielen Dank, Alex! Now I see what happened: I hadn't scrolled down, down, down and ticked that "Ich habe die AGB gelesen..." bit (which I obviously haven't read at all). I've just got the PDF, and it's great. I just wish they'll soon translate it into English. Even if I can understand words like "Geschäftlich" and "Gang", I'm much more familiar with Business and Aisles :)

Cool site. Thanks!

I've been using this site and really enjoy it. I only entered my 2007 flights and it's been fun to see the results!!!

I just got my UA printout for 2005, so it looks like my Saturday morning is booked. :p

Import Service Available
The "import" function is now live. Actually, it's an import service where you email your excel file and they enter it for you. And it's gonna cost you.
The German version has similar cost, in Euros. They are also rolling out a "Premium" version for German users where you can enter more data and have more sort functions and statistics, also at an additional cost. Import of Excel/CSV files Too many flight data to enter it all yourself? Then try our new FlightMemory - Import Service! To cope with the many different wishes of our users, we have developed the following model for pricing: Number of flights min max up to 100 US$ 20.00 US$ 30.00 up to 500 US$ 30.00 US$ 45.00 up to 1000 US$ 40.00 US$ 60.00 up to 2000 US$ 50.00 US$ 75.00 over 2000 US$ 30.00/1000 US$ 45.00/1000 min? max? To assure fair prices for all, we differ between the amount of datasets (see table above) and the amount of information imported. Read the following table - we differ regarding the amount of data each flight has. To better understand the differences in the amount of information we have added two sample files at the end of this page. Please view them before ordering an import. Import types: Type Includes this data (columns of the file) min Departure: Airportcode, Date and Time. Arrival: Airportcode, Date and Time max see min + Flight number, Airline, Airplane, Registration, Airplane name, Seat, Seat type, Travel class, Flight as, Flight reason, Comments Condtions of Service: * Airport -city, -name and -country are filled by the system * Flights involving airports, we do not have in the system will be ignored in the import * If date and times are entered, the flight duration is calculated accordingly (Plese enter local time) * If no date and time is entered, we will estimate a flight duration * Flightnumber and airline will be imported as it is stated in your file; we will not adapt any data as the system usually does (as there are too many types our users use)(Example:if you send us the flightnumber AA0035 in your file without entering "American Airlines" in the field "airline" the field Airline in the system will not be showing "American Airlines") Once the data is imported, you will receive a protocol showing you how it went. If any problems occured, they will be noted in the protocol (e.g. missing airports) The data has to be sent to us in Excel or as CSV-Format (Please no Excel 2007). Sample-Excel-File for min Sample-Excel-File for max For orders, please send an email with your file attached to [email protected] As soon as we received the confimation of payment, we will get to it. Questions? Just ask us through the contact-form. |
Dang...this is cool, but not worth spending money on, so back to the old fashioned way...give me a bunny suit and a drum cause this is like an advertisement for Energizer batteries...it keeps going and going and going

What is the best way for me to enter an overflight for sightseeing? I flew from Ica, Peru to see the Nasca lines and then landed back in Ica. Ideas?
|
I just entered the same origin and destination for my antarctica overflight.

I sent an e-mail notifying flightmemory that when you search an individual year, the numbers are formatted euro. It was fixed in two days. ^
|
Any one with a good memory?
A bit of a long shot this, but I'll ask anyway just in case somebody can help me.
I've added all 114 flights dating back to 1983  and I'm trying to get as much info as possible but there is an equipment type and airport I can't remember, so I'm wondering if somebody here might be able to offer a suggestion. TWA London to Washington January 1990 But what aircraft? The clue I can give is in first class, the seating was arranged 2-1-2 and it was't a 747. I'm wondering about tristar or 767. And also, at that time were TWA flying to Heathrow or Gatwick? Thanks! :D |
See my sig.
|
I've entered all the routes I've taken that I can remember, but not all the individual flights.
I got tired when I started entering all the Bay Area to L.A. area flights. I've flown that route several times a year for the last twenty years. There's no way I can even remember exactly how many times I've flown that route, let alone have the patience to enter them all. So I gave up. So the total mileage of my flights is wrong, but the maps are correct. Ed |

Here it is. I think their stats go back to 1995 or so; I have found that searching by scheduled departure time is the easiest.
http://www.bts.gov/programs/airline_...ledStatistics/ you can look the N-Number up on the FAA's site to see what type the a/c was if you don't have that info. http://registry.faa.gov/aircraftinqu...um_inquiry.asp -ww |

I have a question: when you enter a code share flight, which one do you consider to be the actual airline: the one according to the ticket or the owner of the carrier?
Thanks. |
I put down the name of the owner of the aircraft I fly on.
|
If it is a regional airline flight Ill put in the marekting carrier's code down. So for an Atlantic Southeast Airlines flight I'll record it as Delta Air Lines DL4734 and then in the comment field put in Operated by Atlantic Southeast Airlines as Delta Connection.
If the codeshare flight is operated by another carrier that sells its own tickets I would record that actual airline. For a Delta codeshare say on Northwest, I would record it as Northwest Airlines NW1610 and then as the comment put Codeshare Flight Ticketed as Delta 6813. Besides this info, i'll put if I was upgraded or if I was an award ticket. Does anyone else use the comment fields for data like this, or just leave it alone? |
New Premium Membership
I just noticed today that FlightMemory is now offering a premium membership for $35/year.
Benefits include: -more statistics (map zoom capability, additional stats, top twenty entries...) -ability to create roundtrips and copy flights (a big plus for me) -no ads -and more Just curious if any FTers are going to pay for the premium membership? I'm still undecided. -FlyerBeek |

Anyways, I'm ranked about 510th among ~29,000 users, for total flight miles. |
