I am wondering if the removal of "www." from the URL is a permanent solution, or would we have to re-subscribe to a different URL when their "developers" manage to fix this permanently?
I used to really like using Tripit, but their behavior regarding this problem is making me a bit annoyed. Tripit should have broadcasted this problem on their website (and possibly e-mail us) so that I did not have to waste my time trying to fix this. Hopefully, TripIt will improve. I still love TripIt, and there still is no other app that quite gets the job done like TripIt IMO. |
Something weird went on with my loads of trips in this app. Reservations that showed up fine last week are now no longer showing up properly and have ended up as "unfiled" or something like that despite previously displaying just fine. I'm sure there was a glitch but not sure when it hit me.
And my past trips may have been by the same or a repeated glitch as they may have lost hotel stays that were previously associated with those completed trips; but, unlike with the item mentioned in the above paragraph, I haven't verified this last item yet. I don't recall using this app with calendar syncs of any sort, so it would be news to me if that was the source of the issues I am encountering. |
I am having the same issue. People find a solution/ fix?

It seems to be working now for me xmlsoa. What issue are you having? I'll see if I can recall the steps taken to help...!

Deleting TripIt calendar subscription in iCal
My iCal on my iMac shows two calendar subscriptions for TripIt (my fault). BUT I cannot find the means to delete them either in the iCal application or on-line at TripIt.com. i just want to delete both and start over. They seem to make it easy enough to add calendar feeds but I am certainly missing the magic button for deleting same. Any help appreciated.

I'm not sure what version of iCal you're using but here's how I can delete extra calendars:
1) Up towards the top left of the iCal page there's a button marked "Calendars;" when clicked a sidebar opens up which shows all of the calendars I currently have installed. 2) If I right-click on a calender it gives me options for that calendar and one of the options is Delete. Try that and let us know how it goes. |

TripIt
I have been looking at creating our itinerary in a consolidated manner with Trip It.
Is it secure to send them your plans to compile for you? I inserted a bunch of things manually - is there a way to print that will get rid of most of the advertisements? Thanks! |
I haven't generated print outs of my TripIt data, but I do have it setup to export a RSS feed into my Google Calendar. (in the past I had this going to my Outlook Calendar)
I can then see the info in the calendar on my phone, tablet, and PC and that doesn't have the advertisement info. I suppose I could generate a print out from the calendar that would also be lacking the ads if I needed one. |
I use TripIt a lot for trips, it is great. I forward itinerary emails to them and it populates my trip automatically, for the most part.
After my trip is set up, I export the trip and import into Outlook, then have it on my phone/tied into my Outlook calendar instead of printing it out. I can always print out my Outlook schedule as well, without ads. If you do print it out and want no ads on it, maybe try using an adblocker in your browser? |
Thanks, everyone. I ended up forwarding the e-mails to their email address and it automatically populated the trip. How do I export the trip to my outlook? I only see something about adding it to iCal.

Yea, I too use TripIt a lot. It's kinda sad though because like only 4 of my friends/colleagues use it - so the networking part of it feels empty.
However, it's an amazing tool because it imports *most* of my flights I book from my email and puts the itinerary right into my tripit look. I have the app as well, so I automatically carry all my flight/hotel/travel dates/numbers/references on my phone even in offline mode (provided everything is downloaded before you go). This has definitely helped me at customs once or twice in Europe where everything was laid out and ready to go. Still I wish more people used it, it calculates (albeit wrongly I feel) all your travel miles so that's cool too. |
Stupid "money saving" message from Tripit Pro
I just got this email from Tripit:
TripIt Pro just paid for itself! Your flight United Airlines 535 departing on 3/3/2016 may be eligible for a refund! Price paid: $1,196.20 Change fee: $200.00 Current price: $336.20 Your airfare credit: $660.00 Fares change quickly and are not guaranteed.* See details on how to get your $660.00 refund now! 1. It's still within 24 hours of booking, so I wouldn't have to pay the change fee. and the really big one: 2. I booked business class and the fare they are comparing it with is economy class! Way to go Tripit Pro -- and by the way, I asked you not to send me this type of email on my preference list. |

LOL. They'd probably love to know this is happening. Report it as a bug, so they can fix it. Probably https://tripit.zendesk.com/home
I did send them a message about this yesterday on their FB page but they did not respond to that either. This is going to cause me to rethink the value of paying for TripIt pro next year. If it doesn't buy support, why bother? Edited to add: They responded exactly the same to both my bug report and my FB post -- it was traditional customer service bullsh*t. They didn't even admit it was a bug. |
