Same thing happened to me today. I’m hoping it’s a glitch in their system.

I've set up TripIt so that 4 different emails forward to it. Every single one has deactivated. The only way to get TripIt to work is to manually forward emails to [email protected].

My response from TripIt:

We’re very sorry for the inconvenience with the Inbox Sync on Yahoo emails.

Please rest assured that our development team is aware of this matter and is actively working on a solution.

In the meantime, if you have travel plans that need to be imported immediately, you can forward your booking confirmations to [email protected], or manually create the itinerary using the TripIt website or app.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

We’ll keep you updated on the progress of this resolution.

Here is what I heard from TripIt about google.

Indeed, the situation on Google is quite different from that of Yahoo.

Google now requires users to renew access with TripIt to continue with Inbox Sync. If access is not renewed, Inbox Sync is deactivated.


If you encounter problems reauthorizing Inbox Sync for Gmail, removing TripIt's access from your Google account may help:

1. Visit your Google Account's third-party connections page.
2. Select 'TripIt'.
3. Remove access, then try to enable Inbox Sync again.


I have been able to successfully reactivate my two google accounts. Let's see how long it sticks. I await a solution for Yahoo.

Note from TripIt re how long the google access will stick.

Google began requesting renewals every six months. However, on your Google Account page there is also an option to allow TripIt ongoing access, so you do not need to renew access every six months.

Also, I don't think TripIt is playing well with Firefox. The page shudders when I bring it up so I move over to Safari.

One hour long: my google accounts have already been deactivated.

For well over a decade I have manually forwarded emails from one of fours email account to [email protected].

I have always done it this way - I have never used inbox sync.

All of a sudden I am having a problem where nothing happens. I first noticed the issue today.

Looking at my profile it indicates all of my email accounts are "not activated"

I added another email address I can use, received the Confirmation Email from tripit and clicked the link to confirm. This appeared to have worked but now when I look at my profile the new mail is listed with the others, but is is "Not Activated" as well.


It started working ...

Outlook for Mac and OWA won't let me add the https:// or webcal:// .ICS files.

Level 1 Outlook tech support can't help

I can add it to my iCloud and gmail no issue.

Any suggestions - if tripit doesn't support Outlook - makes the program a dealbreaker...

Yes - Microsoft says

"Please know that we explored all possible options to ensure compatibility, but this restriction is due to the way TripIt’s feed integrates with Outlook and is outside of our control."

Anyone else having issues with Hilton reservation emails and TripIt? Something has changed in the last few weeks and now every reservation email I send from Hilton gets bounced back. I have been back and forward with the help desk, who have been helpful but I refuse to change the setting on on my emails, and deleting all the imagines is hit and miss just for this issue. The TripIt Pro AI thing does not pick up all the details from photos. I genuinely am getting fed up with this - it has worked for many years and hundreds of reservations - and now it doesn't - and now it seems it is my iPads/Apples fault! I am getting to the end of my tether with it all - why pay for pro when I have to manually input the details.

I just wondered if anyone else was having the same issue and who has found a solution? I get the feeling TripIt think I am the only one this is happening too - is there anyone else?

I just forwarded an English Hilton confirmation email from my iPhone to TripIt and it was imported without issues.
I usually don't stay at Hilton hotels, so can't say how representative that was.
I think it might be an issue with your email client - have you tried forwarding the emails from your phone vs. your computer?

I also didn't think the import is a TripIt Pro feature?

I think the main benefit of the Pro version is gate information.

Thanks - I have tried my iMac, iPad and iPhone - all bounce back the emails now and I have to go through and delete bits (different bits to get it to work every time) or send in plain text. It seems that can only be done on my iMac which is no use when I am travelling!

I have no doubt it is something to do with Apple Mail and TripIt but it has worked for years and only in the last month has it been problematic. I just wondered if it was my system or whether something more fundamental with a TripIt update!

Whatever it is, it is useless to me at the moment!!

Is there anyway to export tripit data to AI?
 
I'm a pretty basic AI user, but see the various LLM have plug ins for various sites, can review data files etc. I'm just wondering if there's a way for me to export all of my Tripit data into an LLM project folder like chatgpt, Claude etc, and then be able to ask it questions like "give me all the dates I was in LAS" or "how many days was I in France in 2017" or "list all the countries I've been to in the last 5 years"

Would be pretty handy

you can do a copy, paste for each trip; which could take forever. They used to have an API, but it looks like they cut that off back earlier this year. You could check out the MCPs in the Claude "store" or write your own client side script to pull and parse the JSON.
