GPS Software transfer

if i buy a new tomtom with current software, can i transfer the maps to my old tomtom?

lets skip compatibility issues for the moment. the "new" rebuilt tomtom is about the same price as the software ud. if i have 2 identical tomtoms, and purchase the ud software from the tomtom site, can i use it to ug both machines?

While I don't think you can install it in two places, I'm not at all positive. You could try at Tomtomforums.com, some people there are fairly knowledgeable.

Maps are easy to transfer - you'll see in your TomTom folders (when connected to a PC) the map folders - eg Australia_map, GB_plus_major-roads_of_WE etc. All you need to do is replace the files in these folders with the latest ones.

Do a backup first though!!
