I'm fortunate enough to work for an organization that gets a site license for our hundreds of Macs, so the cost of the upgrade won't be a factor in my decision. (They also don't tell us which OS release to run.) I expect I'll upgrade after it's been out for long enough to make sure they didn't screw up something major, though their track record suggests they probably won't.

For instance, will they fix Mail.App so I can reuse the same message window instead of opening a new one for each message?

News of the delay is disappointing- I have been holding off replacing my PB G4 with a MacBook Pro until the new release, just so I wouldn't have to upgrade separately. Guess I'll wait it out a bit longer then....

Can't find any news about delay. Would be all over Mac news sites if there was a delay. There was never any delay to June, let alone to end of year. Still tracking March. What is your source for this?
I'll be upgrading our 10.3 Panther machines to 10.5 Leopard eventually, skipping over 10.4 Tiger.

I'm hearing that they made great progress in the most recent build... I'm still hoping it will ship in April...
I'll buy it the first day I can, without doubt... I doubt I'll replace my Tiger server anytime soon though...

Every time I think about it...and its often.... I cannot come up with a good reason to ditch OS X for linux...in other words they are so closely related that I feel like I get all the benefits of linux in OS X plus a UI that I quite like...
I will have to say that baryl and compiz are pretty slick though, desktop effects like that are tempting indeed!
On the windows side it wasn't a hard choice at all... I have a vista box (which I'll keep) and a 2003 domain controller (which I'm replacing currently) and other than that I've moved all my formally-windows hardware to linux and never looked back.
