It's quite possible that the devices from 3-4 years ago were not as well engineered (Hinge Design) or the screen material may not have been as robust as the current technology. Just speculation of course. I tend to chase the latest, greatest phone hot bot, as it seems to be a hobby of sorts. I upgrade my iPhone every year and am now rockin' the 17 Pro Max. For years I have traveled with an iPad Mini and still have a 5 & a 6 with cellular, but the Oppo should retire those based on my latest trips.

I keep telling my grandkids I don't want to be the richest guy in the graveyard.

The nice thing about OnePlus is that their UI is still fairly close to what stock Android is, though then again, Samsung definitely isn't as bad as it used to be in that regard.

Oh, and the battery on the 13 easily lasts at least two days with my usage. And when it doesn't, it recharges insanely fast compared to phones I've used in the past. I try not to do this too often, though, since fast charging like that does wear out the battery more quickly.
What's the difference between the $600 and $900 models?

Looks like cameras and wireless/fast charging are the main things that are different, at least if I'm understanding their website.

Thanks for the replies, everyone. I ended up buying the OnePlus 13 (small Black Friday discount). I watched several YT comparisons between the 13 and 13R, and the differences between the two aren't significant (e.g. faster charging, better slightly better speakers/cameras), but thought I might regret getting the cheaper version, and I expect to use the phone for at least a year.

I ordered it from Amazon on Sunday morning and I received it less than 24 hours later. I'm pleased with it, thus far.
