I was just giving my opinion on what works for me. I think this is going to be highly personal. What works for me may not work for you. Like I said before, I once worked with a triple monitor setup.

I'm not normally a Windows user, but I noticed there is a new(ish) Powertoys App (Fancy Zones) that allows you to customise the snap zones. So, you should be able to get 4 windows "snapping".

I have an Aeron Size C at work and wanted one at home with the same dilemma. I looked on our local Craigslist and maybe because this is silicon valley, but there were literally hundreds and hundreds of Aeron chairs for sale, going price was $350-$450. I picked up one for $350 that looks like it's never been used. Still had to get creative to get it home!

That's really nice. Just give it a little clean and it's perfect.

Seconded. I'm writing this on some pretty antique panels--3x 19" 1280x1024. They're still working fine and 19" panels have the biggest dot pitch out there, they're easier on aging eyes. I also have a 27" 2560x1440 but the writing is smaller than I prefer, I generally only use it when I need a single screen bigger than my 19" panels even though it is technically the superior monitor.

You can always increase the size of the fonts.

I bought a discounted Size A Aeron open box with manufacturer warranty a few weeks ago from Office Designs and it has been a great improvement.

Edit: I see you got yours home. Leaving for others - If yours is a remastered, mine came in two pieces with the back unscrewed from the base and disassembling it into two might help fit in a sedan. It uses a hex key to screw in (aka Ikea key) and a few really long zip ties on the tilt adjuster base kept it from tilting. The arms might be trickier. What else to look for when buying a used Aeron https://whatdoineed2do.blogspot.com/...of-trying.html

But in most cases you can't increase the size of icons.

Has anyone used zoom with an iPhone (earlier than X)? Is there an app and does it work, even if not really well? Do background pictures etc. carry over from your zoom account?

Alternatively, suppose I make my iPhone a wifi hotspot, link to my laptop, and try to use zoom that way if my wifi goes down. Does this work in an emergency? Does it use a lot of my cellular data plan?

I used zoom on my iPhone 8 Plus OFTEN, as in about 1-3 hours a day. I don’t always use transmit video, but certainly for internet (voip) audio, for viewing others, for viewing others content, or the main shared content. I’ll often use and iPad while remote for the main content, and secondarily login with my iPhone 8 Plus for audio channel and viewing the other participants video feeds. So yeah, works fine, works great,

Background images you may have setup on one device do NOT simply transfer to another device, so if you have a background setup on a computer, or iPad, you’re going to have to share that same image with the iPhone directly and then set it as your background.

it’s a good product development idea though, I’ll mention it to them next week. ;-)

I can report back that when I installed zoom on my iPhone 8 and started a meeting, it showed the background photo from the (same) account on my laptop when the camera was turned off, but when I turn the camera on, my own photo doesn't appear, just the standard zoom choices. I didn't explore much, so there might be a way to do this without repeating the process of downloading the photo, etc.

About a week or so ago I was informed that we'll be using Yammer at work now. I'm currently away from work on a short staycation so didn't bother doing anything. I've got a phone I use specifically for work stuff but is not a company mobile. I tried installing Yammer this evening before and it said when launched
"The Yammer app requires an updated version of Microsoft Launcher"

So I installed MSFT Launcher and relaunched Yammer. I got the same message which was confusing to say the least. I don't want to use Microsoft Launcher if I can possibly avoid it but at the moment the two MSFT apps don't work together. Not only that it adds yet another blasted communication channel along with Email, WhatsApp and Teams.

Does anyone have any experience of these blasted apps and know of any fix the problem?

Edit: someone else just suggested making MSFT my default launcher. This has worked in so far as that message has buggered off but I much prefer Nova as my launcher. Now apparently I need to have Yammer authorised at work for it to work. So that's a job for next week.

USB-to-ethernet adapters have been a staple of my work-from-home activities.

I'm also a person who prefers multiple monitors running rather than a single ultra-wide monitor being split in two on the display itself.

Why? My conclusion is different from yours. My 38" UW is perfect and have no bezels in the middle. I have experience with both double and triple LCD setups. The only problem with UW is that there isn't one bigger than 38" and more vertical pixels. I would go even bigger if that exist.
