Really? It doesn't provide you with options? Mine does. Last night we were presented with 3 ways, all showing the duration of the trip if selected.
Perhaps it's the way you're selecting the route. I'll have to look to see how I get the options.

So, yeah, I can ultimately get there, but my point was that I wished it would do that automatically. It knows I want to get home and that my "preferred" route could give me the option of taking a HOT lane or not. It would be cool and handy if it could show the time savings and the estimated high occupancy toll at that particular time.

My problem with Waze, and to a lesser extent Google Maps, is that the rerouting is a little too aggressive on the speeds of minor arterial streets. The side effect is that it tends to want to route me through some pretty sketchy neighborhoods in order to save 30 seconds. That's fine when I'm in Chicago and it wants to route me through North Lawndale, less fine when I'm in another city.

Late to this thread - suggest getting a skiva or anker brand dual car adapter via amazon. No RF interference, etc.

I generally find no issues with Waze. It does occasionally give me stupid navigational advice where a different way ends up saving time. But that's rare. Also jumps every once in awhile.
All in all, 4.7 stars out of 5. And now that I have C3P0 (Star Wars) as the voice, it rocks!
One thing that I'd like to see is integrating Waze with parking apps to help find parking spots and/or pay for street parking.

I did see this article when it came out
Typical cops reaction; everything that is useful to the masses is a threat to their lives. there comes a point where even real threats get the old
from me because everything to them is a life threating problem.
sometimes the cops just need to STFU and do their job

I activate the app. If it's first thing in the AM or quitting time in the PM, it gives me a route. If I want other routes, I have to tap "routes". Then it calculates alternate routes. But then I have to scroll through the route to see if it's recommending the HOT lane or not.

I'm learning how to work around it, but am often trying to decide I-66 inside the Beltway, the GW Parkway or 495/395 in (I'm in that area on 395 where all 3 are viable options...), but don't want to pay the $9 that pops up on the sign for the HOT lanes (and this is a Saturday or Sunday afternoon...).
