I'll be sticking to Fi then until T-Mo offers an unthrottled international option.

Update to my decision - switched over to the One plan - got a free line, saving ~$15/mo on taxes and probably will save another $15/mo on average throughout the year on Kickback as two paid lines use little data. As a bonus up in Canada and the data is fast. Faster than slow hotel wifi at least.

I had really high hopes about T mobile. Grabbed a SIM today to test the network. In my iPhone 6s I get LTE all over my house even the basement. Speedtests download of about 10 Mbps on the 1st two floors with my basement at 3 Mbps. Outside I'm at 15 Mbps. Overall a drop from the performance I get with ATT. Pop the sim in my wife's iPhone 6 and my LTE coverage is abysmal. I got one bar on the ground floor; rest of the house is 4g with barely any signal in the basement. Speedtest on 4g is about 2.5 down. So definitely band 12 that the iPhone 6s has is making a huge difference. So I would need to upgrade 4 phones to get the band 12 functionality. Tomorrow I test at work. I can live with using wifi at home; however at work I need LTE.

Thanks - EE came back online in Jan - It's THROTTLED to 128Kb/sec or to 256Kb/sec (if on the T-Mobile One add ons - there is a free add on for this now called T-Mobile One Promo you can add online or through 611)

Would be good to get accounts of the higher roaming speed from FTers. Would be interesting to see how noticeable the difference is.
Hopefully though, T-Mobile runs the promo they did last year with full-speed LTE in Europe this summer. |

Anybody else switched from Simple Choice to the One plan? The unlimited US LTE was the main draw, but One seems to offer it as well + International speeds of 256kb instead of 128kb?
I made the switch from my Simple Choice plan to the ONE plan on 3/3. I had 10 voice lines and 2 tablets. I moved the voice lines but dropped the tablets since they cost too much more and were not used a lot. I got in on the free line deal, and also the Insider HookUp promotion. In case you don't know, you can get a 20% discount on your line fees for life! No strings attached, just ask a rep for their code. Each rep has 5 to give away and it's a simple process to add to your account. I now have 12 voice lines, but a ton of discounts like: -$40 AutoPay. -20% HookUp, -$10 per each line that doesn't go over 2Gb per month. I also am getting the 256kbps roaming data, and the 10Gb tethering on each line. The new, free line is now my hotspot. I bought a used iPhone SE for that purpose. I expect my new monthly bill for my 12 lines to be around $150-$180 total. |
Wow. So to start is $100 for two lines. How much is each additional line?

And this plan has the all included North America service?

The first 4 lines are $160. For me, it included a free line as part of a promotion, so it was $140. The next 4 lines are $25 each. These 8 lines are all entitled to a $5 per line AutoPay discount. The next 4 lines are $30 each, maxing out the account at 12. There is also a $10 discount per line for each line that doesn't exceed 2Gb per month. Currently there are 9 of my lines that qualify for this, = -$90. The Insider HookUp promotion runs until the end of March, and gives a flat 20% discount on the account for life. Seems too good to be true, but it is documented, and confirmed. I'm fortunate that many on my plan aren't data hogs, so I make out with that, but so do they. A really sweet deal.
Wow that's a great deal! Sucks I can't take advantage of it since I'm already on their simple choice plan. |

Yes, it's the standard ONE service. Canada, Mexico, etc. is just like home, Unlimited (To 30Gb, then prioritized). Overseas all lines get 256kbps data speeds, free texting, and WiFi calling, 10Gb hotspot, HD video streaming, 1 hour of free Go Go internet, & free Go Go texting. Not to mention the T-Mobile Tuesdays promotions. I was on Simple Choice also, but opened a new account in my wife's name and SSN for this ONE promotion. I then moved my SC lines over to the new ONE account. I had to port in a number to get the free line promo, so I used my Google Voice number. I never did much with it anyway and now it's just vacant, but only costs $10 a month with the -2Gb Kickback. Or, with the free line, 2 for $10. Hello, T-Mobile Tuesday pizzas! My plan seems to pencil out as: $380 -$40 AutoPay, -20% Hookup, -$90 KickBack = Approx. $182 a month, depending upon when the 20% is deducted. Edited to change gross charges to $380. If 20% is deducted first, then total could be as low as $174. |
DIGITS is the Killer Roaming App if You Have an Extra SIM
Currently roaming in Europe on a One plan with the 256 Kbps.
I have an extra SIM from the recent T-mobile 3rd line promotion. I use that SIM, rather than my usual SIM, in my phone. I have the DIGITS app (I'm a beta participant) set to make and receive calls using the number associated with my normal SIM, and have selected the option for the DIGITS app to use the data connection (not minutes and texts.) The result is I can make and receive phone calls using my normal number through the DIGITS app for no charge whatsoever, as only the free data is used. The call quality is very good. |
