I tunes help please
I have 233 songs in my library on I tunes. Yet I am only able to synch 133 of them into my ipod. I have one of those older 4gb models and haven't updated in a long time so I tried today and am frustrated that I can see 100 songs in my "library" that I can get into my ipod. Any suggestions on what I may be doing wrong? If reinstalled i tunes and nothing changed.
Thanks
Thanks

I'm not sure you've provided quite enough information. I doubt I can help much, but I'll ask the questions that have occurred to me anyways for clarification.
Are you sure that you have enough space remaining on your iPod? (I would imagine so; 133 songs isn't all that much.)
What exactly are you doing? You are dragging the songs from your iTunes library into your iPod playlist and syncing your iPod up with that playlist, right?
Can you play the songs directly from your iTunes library?
What kind of error messages (if any) are you getting?

This (iTunes/iPod) is actually a legitimate topic for the Travel Technology forum -- not sure why you started this thread in OMNI.
In fact, a "Search this forum" reveals that there are quite a few threads in Travel Technology with "iTunes" in the title, and even more with "iPod" in the title. I bet if you spent some time perusing some of those threads, you could learn some useful stuff.
Of course I realize you've already figured out your current problem -- but still, might be something helpful over in TT as well.

We couldn't get the data retrieved from the bad hard drive (I've not yet given up), so we're starting all over. All of the music that I have on my iPhone/iPod will be lost the next time that I try to sync it up; fortunately there's nothing I might lose that I don't have on a music CD.

Sounds like I'm in a similar situation. Our had drive on the home computer crashed; I was stupid enough not to have a back-up.

2) Connect your ipod.
3) Go to windows explorer and find the usb drive that corresponds to the ipod.
4) Copy files back to a folder on the computer.
5) Import the files into itunes.

As tev9999 said, you can get them back. A google search will give more info, but in a nutshell:
1) Start iTune and turn of the setting for auto sync.
2) Connect your ipod.
3) Go to windows explorer and find the usb drive that corresponds to the ipod.
4) Copy files back to a folder on the computer.
5) Import the files into itunes.

I run iTunes off my Mac, but I don't see any reason why that shouldn't work. Of course, I thought that Apple had already thought of that work around and prevented it. I'll try it later. Thanks for the tip! ^

For posterity's sake and that of any Mac users who might find this thread, I will post that I had completely forgotten about Senuti.
It didn't completely solve my problem, but it got me most of the way there.
