I've had my Nexus One for about 24 hours now, and I am pretty impressed. I have had some issues with the camera. I kept getting "unable to connect" errors. I think it did not like the SD card that had been moved from my blackberry to XM player. A reformat of the SD card seems to have taken care of it.
I'm streaming music via Pandora right now over AT&T's EDGE network. I'm shocked at how well it is working. No pauses or breakup at all. I am getting a bit of that "GSM chatter" interference, but I am also using a set of cheap speakers. |
I've found that enabling the GPS tends to take care of most, if not all of the "unable to connect" errors
|
I've been unable to resolve the camera issue after several SD card reformats and factory resets, so it looks like I got a defective N1. Just got off the phone with HTC support and they agree, so they are shipping out a replacement. Annoying, but at least their customer service seems to be efficient and didn't fight me or try to make me walk through a script of troubleshooting once I told them what I had attempted.

Ordered two unlocked Nexus Ones (one for myself, and one for the wife).
Great improvement over my old MyTouch 3G -browser is faster than the iPhone, and the display is simply amazing. Very happy. |
This phone is just amazing - for the first time ever, I'm finding myself reach for my Nexus One before my iPhone. The browser rocks, Google Navigation is excellent and the display is just gorgeous.
This almost makes up for the $562 the damn things cost (with taxes). |
I'm eagerly awaiting this phone to come out on Verizon this spring. I just hope it will be a global phone.

But how cool will that be when you cannot talk and use internet, send/receive emails at the same time on Verizon?

Anyone considering the HTC Desire? It's a strong contender for my next phone.

http://gizmodo.com/5472642/htc-desir...out-the-google Plus, since the Desire rom is already ported to the Nexus One, I'm not missing much. |
Anyone tried HTC HD2? How was it compared with Nexus One? Android or Windows Mobile? I was thinking if I'll get a Nexus One or the HD2.

Go with the Nexus one. |
I do love this phone. Actually I rarely use it as a phone. So far today I have already listened to the Bob & Tom show on WQMF out of Louisville (not broadcast in Detroit) over EDGE using the Iheartradio app. This was while I walked my dogs 4.8 miles @ 4.1 mph (tracked with My Tracks app using GPS). I also updated my exercise and breakfast in the calorie counter app. Now I'm streaming Pandora over wifi since I found that the phone stream does not have commercials while the computer feed does.
