This is a link to the Android market for Air Traffic Control Status (free version) which is not the game but ATC information. Came in handy the other day with 18 reports on two of the airports I had to fly through.

I just discovered SMS Backup+, which connects with your Gmail account to backup all of your SMS messages. If you perform a wipe on your phone, you can also use it to restore all of your old messages (except it cannot restore MMS's).

Neat, free program.

The Amazon Appstore has Air Control for free today (normally $1.99).

The sky is limited. Only so many planes, jets, helicopters, and even zeppelins can share its space, and it's your job to land them all safely. This addictive casual game will have you thinking ahead and moving up in rank. Choose from four custom environments, including a vintage airstrip. Happy landings!
I haven't tried it yet but it has 4 out 5 stars on the store.

Here's the link: http://www.amazon.com/mobile-apps/b/...ode=2350149011 or you can download it from your Appstore app previously downloaded on your phone.

For anyone not familiar with the Android Appstore, there's an explanation earlier in this thread or go to the link above and download the app from there. See the "Get Started" box on the upper right. You must enable third party apps in your phone's settings.

Has anyone been successful getting Witopia VPN (not pptp but ipsec) to work on a Galaxy Tab?

ATT sucks big time.. I have the Xperia x10 and Sony released a worldwide 1.6 to 2.1 upgrade last year *I think it was last year* and ATT has not released the update to date.. Besides there is a Sony app that lets you backup and restore and you can't because ATT doesn’t allow it..

Best way is to flash it, which I did and debranded everything ATT ...

We recently finished this game before flying from IAD to SFO. We had someone play it for the full 5 hours, and still was having fun and had plenty of levels to go. It's called Bots Vs Bugs!

Textly is neat as well. Sends your SMSes to a pop up in your Chrome browser. Nice when the phone's not handy or charging elsewhere. You can send/receive from the browser.

Hotspot Finder?

My iPhone has an app which was once available, since removed from the App Store, that dings whenever I get in range of a non-encrypted wi-fi hotspot. I've found it very handy when traveling.

Is there anything similar available for Android phones?

Can't find it in https://market.android.com.. What's the link?

Edit: Oh you mean Texty (https://market.android.com/details?i...s&rdot=1&pli=1)

Update: Received the beta invite in a few hours. And just tested it and I like it!! Thx. (the only thing is you have to give up trust, especially you wanted type ahead contact in your chrome. Just hope it is not going to open a hole in security...)

Any app that I can enable wifi on ch 12-14 (on Samsung Galaxy S) running 2.2.x OS?

I have read there is an actual option in 2.1 but since it has been removed. This will come in handy when travel out of NA

It looks like this is available in the free app WiFi Advanced Configuration Editor.

I have used this for other settings that are not avaialbe in the standard Settings.

I cannot speak about the Galaxy S series handsets but my Nexus One running Gingerbread (Android 2.3.4) seems to have channels 12-14 enabled by default.

I admit it is a bit strange that El Goog removed that menu in FroYo (Android 2.2)

A bookmark to http://www.fly.faa.gov/ois/ is a far easier "webapp", one with more info and the certainty that there are no delays.
