Since I use Juice Defender Ultimate I don't have big problems with the Power any more.

Before Installation I had about eight hours or less (with moderate use of wifi, phone and 3G). After installation and customisation I have between 16-30 hours. That is ok for me.

The iphone Maps app is made by Apple not Google. There's nobody intentionally delaying features -- at least not as far as I know -- there are just two different companies with different priorities and partner deals. The Apple Maps app does use Google maps for its data I believe but it's a separate app developed separately.

  • Amazon Appstore, if you are not using it, you are missing out on some pretty good apps for free
  • FlexT9 which I like better than Swype
  • LauncherPro is still the best home replacement (IMHO)
  • Beautiful Widgets
  • Netflix
  • Slingbox
  • Dialer One
  • Yahoo Fantasy Football
  • Opera mini browser
  • Xscope Browser (if I need a site with Flash)
  • Handcent
  • Engadget
  • Woot Watcher
  • MightyText
  • FlightTracker Pro
  • Tripit
  • Paper Camera
  • Retro Camera

I can't wait for the new Nexus Prime, my OG Droid is constantly running out of space to install apps, even with the app2sd functionality

I am praying that Nexus Prime (or whatever it is going to be called) comes with radios for at&t Mobility's 3G network, but that is a little OT.

One thing you can try is this. It does allow for more applications to be moved to the SD and hopefully will free up some more space.

I have been taking advantage of Amazon's Free App of Day buy dl it and then quickly uninstalling it as when I get my new Nexus I know it will have more room for all the fun/neat/useful apps that Amazon is giving away.

I've used quite a few Golf GPS apps, and I must say SkyDroid offers the best "bang for the buck" (or two, given the cost). There is a massive golf range near my house, and I was able to map all of the pin locations using their on-line mapping function. Once completed, it was ready to download and load onto my phone. So, where ever I am on the range, I have an accurate distance to each target.

It also works very well on a golf course. However, you're also at the mercy of the course mapper. If they did an inaccurate job, you're hosed, but you can also use the on-line mapper to make any changes as necessary.

The only downside is the course library is lacking compared to other golf GPS apps (like iGolf). Again, if you're familiar with the course, you can map it yourself before heading out to play.

Another vote for LauncherPro. It made me love my phone again. Running 2.2, it sped up the homescreen actions. The Touchwiz launcher would have to rebuild the desktop every time the screen rotated. It took almost a minute, all the time the phone was useless. LP fixed it.

I've been using the free app "WiFi File Explorer" a lot. Starting the app gives you a web site address for your phone that you can log onto with a computer connected to the same WiFi network that allows you to explore files and directories on your phone. It's much easier to upload and download files this way instead of using a USB cable.

WOW! Thank you. This is lifesaver! I have a new Galaxy Nexus and it does not support file transfers from computers running XP. I had to find a Windows 7 computer (my wife), then copy the files on my computer to a thumb drive, insert it in her USB slot and then I could add mp3s, photos, etc. VERY not user friendly.

I spung for the .99 PRO version and now I can transfer stuff up AND down quickly and easily.
Thank you again!
Ed

Go to your team, and there is a button that says edit on the upper right hand corner.

You can change the line up

Anything remotely like IOS's WindowSeat app? If not that, is there any program that can be used in flight (on airlines that allow gps) with a mapping program? (I downloaded MapDroyd and the downloaded maps were awful)

I think that FlightTrack will work offline and in flight.
