Question large, ipad/etc that looks like purse not business

(purse/handbag - ill use "purse" but could mean either i think)

looking for someone who wants >
- (large) purse replacement (enough items to give weight, not large light items)
- include holding ipad
- does not look business/masculine/etc
- long handles that go over the shoulder, instead of using business-style shoulder strap
(unless perhaps its a "shoulder bag" purse with strap thats very well made and will withstand the weight/etc)

doesnt have to be stylish/trendy, at all
just something that looks more like a purse

specific bags, brands, what kind of place/brand/type to look at, any information or suggestions are greatly appreciated

for example, if there are not specific recommendations, is it generally a good idea to look for this kind of thing with a company/brand that makes luggage/etc and possibly purses as well, as opposed to JUST purses and no luggage type products?

please bear with my descriptions etc, as im a guy. will answer any clarifying questions to best of my ability.

thanks!

Here are a couple of threads in the Women's Travel forum that might spark ideas:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/women...ag-laptop.html

FYI, what you are looking for is a cross-body bag.

thanks, will have to go through both threads in their entirety

tote seems like one of the options
first linked in that thread seems like it might be too tall and divided more like laptop/business

not messenger bag
not sure about laptop bag
im thinking the only "cross-body" / shoulder bags that would work with weight and look like a purse would be expensive, either well made (lots of good stitching etc?) designer or someone like valextra

I know that neither thread is exactly about what you're looking for, and both are old-ish, but it's worth following up on the various brand names/designers to see what's out there.

I have a nice one by Kate Spade.

Just search "iPad bag" or "ipad crossbody" on Nordstrom, e bags, google, etc. -- lots of cute and practical ones:

I have a pretty good idea what you're talking about, and yes, a search for "cross-body bag" will help.

I have a bag that's nylon, just deep enough for an iPad, and almost square. In addition to the iPad, I can still get my wallet, phone, keys, Kleenex, and maybe a small paperback in it, it has a small inside zipped pocket and closes with a magnetized flap.

Mine was made by Keen, similar to this one:

Other brands you might try are Eagle Creek and Kavu. There are a lot of little boutiques selling this kind of thing here, but if you don't live in such an area, I would try REI.

I have a Red Oxx (made in USA) RockHopper bag that may fit your needs. Unisex, holds iPad, Kindle and plenty of etc without looking at all like a computer bag. http://www.redoxx.com/rock-hopper/91046/product

Extremely well made and guaranteed for life even if your dog chews on it. Variety of colors.
