This isn't exactly a hotel room shot, but I was in a conference room at an office I was visiting yesterday and saw this view, so I thought I'd share it:

Citibank building, right? It is either that or the lipstick building, but it looks like you're on Lex and not 3rd.

Great shot ^

You nailed it -- it's the Citibank building -- 54th floor. It's a quick and dirty panorama shot -- two pictures stitched together using Panavue. I've got shots to make up a really nice panorama from the Hudson to the East River, but it's going to take a little more work and I don't have the time to do it until I get back.

Nice shot! Thanks for sharing.

I notice the distortion - you pack your SLR into meetings?

Safe Travels!

I always carry a small p&s as part of my usual "office kit." You never know when you might need to photograph some physical evidence.

The distortion is from my very sloppy attempt at stitching the two pics together.

Park Hyatt Chicago

OK, go easy on me as I am not even an amateur photographer, but took this one of my son Owen (18 months at the time) in the window enjoying his apple at the Park Hyatt Chicago in December of 2007...you can see the top of the famous water tower, the cabs lined up at the Ritz Carlton (a four seasons hotel), and Lake Michigan in the background.

Renaissance Kowloon Hong Kong

I got a sweet (suite ) upgrade during my trip to HKG this week. I asked if it was harbor view and was told that there are no harbor view rooms because of the building between theirs and the harbor. While technically true, I could see a fair amount of water and many of the buildings on the other side.

Oh, and I could see sunrise, too...

ps - pix are clickable if you want to see them larger

View of Hong Kong from Renaissance Kowloon

sbm12,
Great night shot from your suite. I stepped out of the hotel onto to the Ave of the Stars and took the same shot. Used it as my 2007 Christmas eCard. ^

Here is almost the same view from the Concierge Lounge (on a cloudy day):
