I have a million shots I could share but I will only leave you with the very best. Taken with a very early digicam back in 2003. Too bad I can not display the picture directly here...

Why do I love flying? Because for just a few hours, we all get to pretend we can do this:

Or is that really a 15,000-foot deep, 10-mile-across canyon that looks that big from 40,000 feet?

Nice shot!

They get wide glacier-carved valleys up there. Here's one of my shot from about 33,000ft of Baffin Island. This is a @70mm. So, a 200 or 300mm lens should give one pretty good detail.

And this one at 150mm:

Will it be possible for an A380 to go supersonic?

Now I got your attention!

Some of the reason why I like flying is the wonderment to see the beauty of the earth while high in the air, other reasons including come across interesting facts or puzzles. This is the latter.

On a recent flight LHR - SIN, this was seen on my flightpath as we were close to Singapore, at that point have been in the air for a little over 13 hours, and we have travelled (according o the screen) 13509 miles, or 21689 km.

So the questions are: 1. Where did we go? (was the pilot heading for HNL and then turned right?) 2. We have been travelling, in an A380 at over 1000 MPH for much of the flight.

I just love flying!!!

P.S. This report is known as 'tongue-in-cheek', it is just a bit of fun!

Awesome... I've climbed there and it looks quite different from above.

Out of the hundreds if not thousands I've driven its streets, I've never seen that neighborhood quite like this! Thanks again for posting it.

Looks cool!

If you want to, you can always post a small picture and a link to the larger picture on Photobucket.
