Providing the election runs smoothly and the airport stays open, I should be in Bangkok July 7th-Sept 7th... it'd be great to meet up for drinks or dinner; I can talk forever about planes, travelling, and environmental issues, food, etc if those things are of interest

Thanks to this thread, I was able to meet up with dsquared37 in Chiang Mai this past week for a GREAT dinner at an awesome hole-in-the-wall (although the holes were in the floor at this particular place) in the Old City, close to Wat Prah Singh.

Not sure I'd term it a hole in the wall, though certainly the floor. It was slightly more refined than that, but still a place that's not expensive nor one you're likely to see (m)any farang.
Too bad you missed out on the normal servers. I think we had the early week staff.

I called it a hole in the wall, as a matter of speaking... when it may better have been described as a fantastic find, with open air authentic atmosphere, great food, and decent prices. Truely a good find for both Thais and Tourists... I loved the place.
