Internet in the lobby. Air conditioning in the rooms (fairly rudimentary). They will serve you breakfast early on an outdoor terrace.

Much better value than the overpriced Novetal in the airport complex. Available to book on Agoda.
The Convenient Resort - Just five minutes from Suvarnabhumi Airport. Basic room, free airport shuttle and breakfast for 920 Baht when I stayed there last August upon arriving late into BKK. It is not a resort but it's convenient and you get to save a bundle. No bars around but the bell boy can get you a beer if you want one and the in-house masseuse is available if you need a jet lag-soothing massage.

Location of Convenient Resort:

9-11 Lat krabang Soi 38, Lat Krabang
Bangkok, Thailand, 10520

Bangkok airport hotels

I had the same problem arriving from Syd on BA (J class) 23:00hrs and leaving on GF to BAh (J class) 10:00hrs, knowing the lounges would be closed, I looked at the options (BEFORE READING THIS THREAD) and figured I would book the Conrad, as there was a special deal on for 70 ukstg a night! I have since changed my flight from SYD now arriving at 11am so have a full 23 hours to enjoy the conrad, use my Hilton Gold and will enjoy a few hours in the spa!

I stayed at the Thong Ta resort on both ends of my trip. Only 5 minutes from Suvarnabhumi Airport. I booked online at Expedia for $20.70 and paid B1000 ($28) with no reservation at the end of my trip. It was a very clean and new resort. Checking in at 1 AM was not a problem. A car back to the airport is B150 or you can walk to the end of the Soi and get a taxi.

I stopped by the Bangkok Airways counter and asked about a rate for the Novotel BKK Airport hotel. They quoted me the price (appx 3000THB IIRC) and asked if I wanted to buy a coupon. I guess they do this alot and prepaid coupons are their prefered method.

I'll assume there are many airlines that can get a discounted rate. I'd suggest asking with whatever carrier you're flying and maybe we can compile a list to compare.

I also stayed here (booked using orphan thank you points, so essentially a free stay). Basically, my impression is that you get what you pay for. While the room was clean, I was greeted with a draft of humid mildewy air when the door to the room was opened. Luckily, after opening the windows and turning on the a/c it wasn't that bad plus I also had a slightly stuffed nose due to a lingering cold. It ended up being fine for my <10 hr stay and was definitely very convenient to the airport.

The 150 thb for the hotel taxi is overpriced, but you do get a nicer car than a regular taxi, and it is much more convenient than walking to the end of the street for a regular taxi especially when it is hot. I also would recommend getting the hotel taxi to pick you up at the airport (another 150 thb), b/c it is unlikely a regular taxi would know where the hotel is located. There is another similar airport hotel with a free shuttle listed on expedia, but they are ~$6 more, so I would go for this one since it comes out to the same price and you don't have to wait for the scheduled shuttle times.

20 hotels within 20 minutes of the airport

Found this list of hotels near Suvarnabhumi, sorted by distance from the airport. There are 20 listed and seems to have hotels from a wide section of price ranges from USD18 up to 4 star hotels.

Yeah it's not bad at all. Just make sure you don't need to actually leave as it's not very close to much. I got there really late and left super early so I don't know how walkable anything is, but that pack of stray dogs on the street near the hotel wasn't confidence inspiring.

The aircon is the typical remote control setup found in most houses/apartments in east Asia.

I'd still stay there again, just a friendly heads-up to others out there.

I stayed there twice in April for an overnight layover. It's cheap and clean and convient. BTW they do not have elevators but they carry your luggage to your room but not downstairs in the morning. Perhaps you have to ask. I didn't. Breakfirst was included but I skipped it for the TG F lounge.

Hi there,

I need to stay overnight at BKK on 17/08 and considering arrival and departure time, the novotel looks like the most suitable option. Is it still cheaper to book when getting there at one of the airlines counter or though accor website?
Thanks!

Here's the latest edition of The List:

Sananwan Palace: http://bangpli.com/sananwan.htm Very clean, friendly, family-run guesthouse about 20 min by taxi from the terminal, with nice big pool, A/C room for 600 Baht, in the very interesting old village of Bangphli. Many people return again and again and the feedback is excellent. The hotel will do an airport pickup for 500 baht. Taxi costs about 120 baht.

Great Residence Hotel http://www.greatresidencehotel.com/index.html is the latest to pop up, close to the airport overpass. They're asking 900-1300 baht including breakfast for an A/C room. No pool or wifi. They're offering flexible rates for day-rooms and free transfer from the airport.

The Ivory http://www.theivorybangkok.com/index.htm says it's 10 min. from the airport on Lat Krabang. 1800 baht for a standard single. Free wifi. Airport transfers 200 baht.

Royal Paradise Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport: http://www.royalparadisebangkok.com/index.htm is the latest one to crop up. It says it's two km from the airport and offers basic rooms for 990 baht not including breakfast. Airport transfer costs 200 baht each way.

Silver Gold Garden: http://www.silvergoldgarden.com/photos.htm off Lat Krabang only 3 km from the airport. Brand new, rooms start at 950, no pool, free airport transfer. This one is currently getting very good feedback.

Tong Ta Resort & Spa: http://www.siamairportmotel.com/index.html On Lat Krabang, seemingly a brand new hotel with free wifi, sauna, only 5-10 minutes from the airport. Rooms start at 850 baht. Charging 150 baht each way for the airport transfer.

Convenient Resort: http://www.asiatravel.com/thailand/p...ort/index.html. Newly-built 4-story hotel at Lat Krabang, about 5-10 min. drive from the airport. 1000-1200 baht.

SP Powerlodge: http://www.sppowerlodge.com. New entry on Lat Krabang. Basic rooms, no pool. Price of 1300-1900 includes 2-way airport transfer.

Floral Shire Resort: http://www.sawadee.com/hotel/bangkok.../pictures.html is just on the edge of the airport, maybe 5 minutes from the terminal. 1200-1300 baht. Brand new. No pool. Motel style.

Queen's Garden Resort: http://www.queensgardenresort.net/ only 5 min. from the airport. A couple years old now, quite popular.

Grand Inn Come Hotel: http://www.r24.org/thailand1x1.com/b...come/pictures/ kind of a typical Thai small-town hotel, no pool, 20 min. from airport, 1800 baht "Let out professional masseuses treat and pamper your stiff and stressed."

Avana Hotel: http://www.avanahotel.com/index.php, sort of the kind of suburban upscale hotel where Thais hold weddings and conferences. Pool and all the usual amenities, 1200 baht. Maybe about 25-30 min. from the airport.

Ibis Hotel Huamak: http://www.ibishotel.com/ibis/ficheh...he_hotel.shtml Chain hotel about 20 min from the airport. Pool, 800-1200 baht.

Rachana Place: http://www.ratchanaplace.com/, a hostel off the Bangna-Trat highway AWAY from the city centre, self-described 25 min. from the airport, 350 baht. Free WifFi.

On Nut Guesthouse: http://www.hostelworld.com/hosteldet...-Bangkok-16044, backpacker hostel about 35-40 min. from the airport and within walking distance of the end station of the Skytrain/BTS line.

Nasa Vegas Hotel: http://www.nasavegashotel.com/index.html. Said to be 15-25 min. from the airport. From 590 baht. 900 baht rooms come with a so-called jacuzzi. No pool.

Thanks!
I stayed at the Novotel earlier this summer and got a pretty good price through www.agoda.com. www.asiarooms.com is also a pretty good website for great room rates in Asia

I've stayed at both Thong Ta and Convenience Resort.
Neither was a bad experience.
Next time, I will choose Thong Ta, however. Overall, it is more pleasing to the eye and the rooms are larger/nicer. Convenience Resort's rooms are too utilitarian looking. Much better rooms at Thong Ta.

Similarly priced.

I have stayed at the Novetel and queens garden, found the novetel very nice, great rooms, nice pool and good variety of eateries, most often stay at queens garden because of the price and found this is a great value, clean, pretty quiet, good restaurant .
