Lounge access in PVG

Am I correct to assume that Thai utilizes the SQ lounge?

Thanks.

Not too sure about the situation now. But when I was there 2 years ago, I was directed to a contracted lounge. Anyway, if you are travelling on Business Class or a Star Alliance Gold member, you can use any of the Star Alliance Gold lounges.

I just flew out of PVG 2 weeks ago on TG. I was directed to use one specific lounge. It was not particularly impressive; so I asked whether I could use the other *A lounges, to which the answer was "no". Since it was only for 15 minutes, I didn't bother pursuing anymore.

Where did you ask, the Silver Kris lounge?

Hmmm, BlondeBombers Lounge list (located as a link in sticky for Star Alliance - further down past individual FFPs) has:

Shanghai, China ANA Club Lounge AC LH NH SQ UA
Shanghai, China ANA Signet AC LH NH SQ UA
Shanghai, China Contract Lounge AC LH NH SQ UA
Shanghai, China SQ First Class Loung AC LH NH SQ UA

So, any *A lounge if you have *G status should get you access to any lounge, bar SQ First.

i'm in pvg right now and agree that the contracted lounge is dreadful... i'm assuming that sq is the best? anyone know where they are, as contract lounge is right next to the gate...

To get to the SKL at PVG turn left after immigration and go right up to near the end of the terminal. It's downstairs a few gates from the end.

Where is Thai in 2010 at Shanghai (PVG)?

Hi

Have a F flight with TG out of PVG Terminal 2 to BKK in October. I understand from the Thai website we get access to a *A lounge, but which one?? Also have *G but I guess F might outrank *G status.

Seems PVG was hideous in 2006/2008 judging by some posts. The Priority Pass lounges at T2 PVG don't seem too bad.

Any knowledge for TG flyers please?

Cheers!

I last flew TG out of PVG about 6 months ago, in F, and they gave me a lounge invite to the F section of the Shanghai Airlines Lounge. Nothing great about the lounge, I've seen many business class lounges that I'd rank higher than it. I didn't even realize that SQ has a lounge there or I would have checked it out. I know, not very good, an avid FTer didn't even check out all the lounges.

I flew OZ-F from PVG to ICN last month. The Shanghai Airlines lounge is nothing too great. A few cold snacks, sandwiches, cookies, they have a noodle bar but that depends on the time of the day. Open concept so you end up hearing all the flight announcements from the gates below. The wi-fi was also slow.

Has good views of the tarmac and gate movements if that interests you.

Overall I wouldn't plan on getting to PVG too early just to enjoy the lounge.

Thanks for the replies. Doesn't sound too bad. Yes don't arrive too early!
Have a 17:25 flight out and always like a shower before settling into the Dom.
I have since found this thread on the Shanghai *A lounge at T2

Not sure about the Dom though, seems judging from another thread The Disappearing Dom that pleasure has been cut back to longhaul routes

Yes, no Dom on that route, only the Bolly.

Based on the thread you linked, I guess I didn't miss the SKL at PVG afterall as it appears it has been long-gone from there and the Shanghai Airlines lounge is the *A lounge there. Now I don't feel so bad.
