I am VERY interested in where your original info came from - you've caused a lot of people a lot of worry (ongoing) and I think u owe us some idea of the quality of the info that started this thread

LoveSQ, you need to wait until TG actually cancels the flight before Aeroplan will do anything for you. TG will likely protect you on the other FRA-BKK flight.

Thanks yycworldtraveler. I hope you are right!

Well first of all I do not owe you anything!

And secondly if you would start reading from the beginning of this thread you would notice that I was not the only one that noticed the flight was gone it was confirmed by many people - until it resurfaced!

The jury is still out - so we still do not know what is going to happen with the flights - so please keep worrying!

THAI has filed proposed Winter 2014/15 schedule, effective 26OCT14.
[...]
Bangkok – Dusseldorf eff 01DEC14 Service resumption with 4 weekly 747-400 (Previously reported on Airline Route)

Bangkok – Frankfurt Proposed schedule sees TG922/923 operates with 747-400 on daily basis, instead of 6 weekly A340-600 (Overall 1 daily each A380 and 747-400)

Same here. UA PNR now shows 747 TG a 340. Quick check on Kayak shows the TG nonstop as A 340 but the codeshare under LH as a 747. Of course no way to know but wonder which version of the 747 it would be, if this sticks. As long as flight still operates I am o.k. with either version.

below is just my "gut feeling" and is not in any way anywhere to find except in my mind. anyways happy to share that idea..

note: its heavy speculation!

looking at the story evolving:
1) FRA TG922/923 346 zeroed out starting 01DEC
2) DUS TG926/927 744/747 (9/10F not sure) showed up on the OAG
3) shortly after certain FTers communication with TG, TG922/923 back open
4) latest airlineroute.net release as of 25AUG2014 update shows both, however TG922/923 by 744/747 (9/10F not sure)

--> my best guess as of todays available information:
* they are trying to get DUS back to the market, from the start of this thread.
* they realized having made a mistake by zeroeing the 346 to FRA and found a "smart" way by now filling up the seats on the 747 to DUS by showing availability to FRA... (heavy speculation here!)
* then publishing WS14 changes TG922/923 cxl and TG926/927 new in
* if not 922/923 cxl each weekday, then maybe a mixture of the above, having the 747 some days to DUS some days to FRA.

it does not come to my mind how they really want to fill up 4 heavy (3x747/1x380; MUC, DUS, FRAx2) from Germany more or less on daily basis, considering that all other major airports nearby are already serviced by TG (except AMS, VIE, and those are busy with KL, OS and BR) on BKK routes, if I remember correctly.

I certainly share your thoughts!

I believe they will cancel TG922 /923 and offer the rebook on TG 920/ 921 and the new TG 926/ 927 - if there are connecting passengers especially to the east and Scandinavia then FRA or DUS will be the same for them also for a lot of non-connecting pax DUS will be acceptable as they do live north of FRA....

There is no way that I see to fill 4 big planes a day to Germany specially as the tourist demand from GER to THAI is dropping sharply right now....

update:

http://airlineroute.net/2014/09/02/tg-w14update2-2/

THAI on late-Monday and early-Tuesday (01/02SEP14) has started updating its planned Winter 2014/15 operation on gradual basis, effective 26OCT14. Majority of the changes appeared in the 25AUG14′s update of OAG Schedules Analyser, matches the updated schedule in the GDS.

Other Proposed changes not yet reflected in the GDS (Route marked with * represents additional revision as of 01SEP14′s OAG update):

Bangkok – Dusseldorf eff 01DEC14 Service resumption with 4 weekly 747-400
Bangkok – Frankfurt Proposed schedule sees TG922/923 operates with 747-400 on daily basis, instead of 6 weekly A340-600 (Overall 1 daily each A380 and 747-400)

(extract from the whole airlineroute.net report entry)

means: the ball is still rolling

I still seriously doubt they will actually expand their service this much - given all the economics of it!

Just think about LH that is seriously considering cancelling the FRA-BKK service all together since there is no money to be made on that route....just too much competition into BKK!

Got an email form My Flights app, the aircraft has changed to 747.

Changed my seats at Thai Airways website and the first cabin shows nine seats.
