it was about 9:30 AM and I'd need to check my pics (yes I did) for the date. There were two lines snaking out of the west FT lanes which I consented to try my luck in because the east FT lanes, the normal ones for me when flying PG, were even worse.

Interesting. 9.30 should be more Asian routes, since most European doesn't leave before noon. The TG morning rush should be irrelevant for FT.

I would guess it is a long weekend, or Mainland China long weekender abusing the FT line.

Found it. Dec 1, 2016, 845AM. The FT lanes east hall was backed up to the checkin desks. The west hall, which has more room inside the entrance, was backed up to the entrance.

There were many crew in the west hall pic.

I was going to BNE in J and I try to ask the guard to "cut-in" because I'm in J but they refused, so I make a little complaint and go back to the end of the line. And there was a lady (possibly travelling in Y) asking where I study, I said in the UK (I don't know why she's asking me). At LHR, you can cut the queue at the passport check if you are in J.

You got pics from both entrance WOW^^^^
Dec 1 doesn't jump out as anything special. I've flown around that time before never seen the line outside. I used to see them on the late night rush hour but that was a long weekend.

I'm not sure which LHR you are referring to. "cut-in" line is generally frowned upon in most places. I did "wait-in" line at the Fast Track line at LHR.

Either they have a "priority" line or they don't. Last I remembered, holding J ticket doesn't give you a right to "cut" anyone.

From the PG counter the east FT hall is where I'm typically processed. This time I decided to give it a pass and try my luck at the west hall.

Once in FRA, I was F pax and was escorted through immigration. The lady escort asked those in line to let me through and got some argued with her not in a not very happy manner... . I was not in a hurry and I don't mind waiting in line....

I would too stick up too, but hey you were escorted by someone with ID/credentials. That should (incorrectly) justify you cutting, hard to argue with people with ID. Just enjoy the perks and jump the line. Likely those people who curse you wouldn't even see you again the entire trip.

About a month ago I had quite a delay at the (non-TG) premium lane...long queue 2/3rd the way across the terminal ( but it only took about 12-15 minutes to clear). The delay was security screening, immigration was only 3 or 4 deep. This was for a QR flight departing 0920; took the same flight this week and no queue at all.

So is there express immigration offered to TG Business Class passengers on arrival? and if so where is it?

I'm arriving from Australia due at 16:20.

Many thanks.

Just a friendly comment: Cutting the line (any line) in Oz may result in more than a "refusal". Not good form at all. Even more-so if you are a student and make it known you are flying in J.
