First Class pre-ordered meal

I will be flying TG-677 NRT-BKK soon in F and wondered which pre-ordered meal would be best to order. Any suggestions?

Also, what is the best *A F lounge in NRT (in terms of food & drink available + space)?

Your choices will be the ANA F or the UA F lounge. Both are nice but not a reason to kill hours. Showers are offered in both lounges, food is nothing special for an F lounge. Space is about the same, no sleeper rooms available.

Personal preference on NRT is ANA - the UA F lounge isn't anything special and has a worse premium drinks selection - however the food is more western if that appeals. The ANA lounge is quieter, was closest to the TG flight the last time I visited and has a noodle bar for a nice touch.

As for pre-ordering your meal, I'd just browse the Thai list and choose something you like, from my own limited experience (5 trips in TG F, pre-order each time) the best choice I made was the Tom Yum soup from BKK - lobster has been ok but dry. I don't think there is a clear winner from my own reading so best to just choose based on personal preference - or go for lobster since it is 'more expensive'...

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_1_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7E18 Safari/528.16)

you might want to try also their Japanese choices which, since coming from Japan, may be better made than other dishes:

a) grilled salmon
b) grilled chicken with yuzu pepper
c) Japanese style beef steak
d) grilled eel

Avoid the lobster like the plague!

The obvious choice on an ex-NRT flight as stated above is something "Japanese".

Be advised that TG does not always deliver pre-ordered meals in F. It has happened to me twice in a row now out of BKK.

Although I am not a great fan of any airline food, I find it differs out of most ports. Personally having tried all the seafood dishes I like, I find that I can easily find something that pleases me amongst the 4 choices. It is obviously not ex US, refresh my memory, which flight are you on, there are some great local dishes loaded.?

My wife and I had the Lobster and found it very disappointing. The dry and toughness of the lobster, however, was made palatable by the Dom.

Any suggestions for pre-ordered F meals ex-CDG? My first instinct is the Beef Tournedos...

I agree with others about the lobster and I was also dissappointed with the beef tournedos. These type of dishes just don't travel.

Anyone had the tom yam goong ex LHR? I once had it in the lounge at BKK and it was the worst one I have ever had.

Ex LHR with the caviar we get thin crisp toast (melba toast?) but what are those awful soggy things you get ex BKK? I have complained to the FAs on more than one flight and the last guy said many others complain as well and suggested crackers instead, quickly returning and presenting them -- "Your crackers sir."

Ex CDG I've tried the lobster...it was terrible (very dry and rubbery) and Prawn Penang...it was quite good.
