Updating/Upgrading DigiChat?

Well, I use the Digichat quite often and find it to be a good use of spare time..

Unfortunately, every time I got online; there seems to be problems with my browser as it will reboot itself.

To be honest, the DigiChat also needs great amounts of upgrading since it seems like its been neglected for so long IMO.

Thanks!

And we've noted the same for some time now. At one time it was considered the class of the industry but it does appear it has been neglected from better development.

There is good news on the horizon. After some lobbying from the House of Miles, Internet Brands has agreed to make a project out of finding a suitable replacement for DigiChat. While we had considered some other chat systems that integrate into vBulletin, our current operating system, IB has an idea they are working on and we all look forward to hearing more about this as it becomes available. At this time, we don't know any more about any timetable other than IB has told us that the new system will certainly be tested on smaller Web sites before it may come to FlyerTalk.

Thanks for the input and again, it does align itself with what we have thought for some time now. When it starts booting me out of the chat on a consistent basis -- well, that's the last straw!

Hi Randy

Thanks for the update re the plans for DigiChat. Thanks to General Flyer for starting this thread.

I am a regular FT chat room user and it is a lot of fun . However, the consistent boot out and freezing out can be frustrating. Friends still in the room report that our chat names remain in the room, although we have been frozen out, cant chat and cant get back into the room.

While we are waiting for a better chat vehicle, if the IB people could at least make it possible for those who have been inadvertently booted from the chat room, to get back in without having to wait the full 20 minutes (or so it seems) to sign in again, that would be a HUGE improvement ^ IMHO.

I also use yahoo messenger and that is a great chat enviroment, if they are looking for ideas .

Good luck.
