FlyerTalk causes IE7 to Crash?
I'm somewhat new to this, so appologies in advance if this has already been covered elsewhere on the forum.
I discovered this site a couple of months ago, and have gotten quite addicted. Unfortunately, it does appear that FT is causing my Internet Explorer 7 to crash every so often. It happens on both my work computer (not that I would ever waste time at work looking at FT
) and my home computer. My home computer is less robust (Vista), and when IE goes down, it takes down any window where I have FT displayed as well. On the work computer (XP), the FT window freezes (no response).
Anyone have this problem as well? Any tips?
Thanks!

Sorry to hear of the crashes.
We aren't able to duplicate the problem here. Is the problem intermittent? If so, you might have just been unfortunate in that you happened to be viewing FT at times when we were having technical issues. In other words, it's very possible the issue isn't linked to IE 7 at all.
If it happens again, please take note of the procedure you performed immediately prior to the crash and send me a message or post in this thread.

I'll take notes, but it really is random. I usually have a bunch of tabs open, but this has not caused IE7 to freak on me before.

OK, I seem to have been able to repeat the problem on my Vista machine. Any (OK, most of the) time I close a window or tab which has FT on it, those IE windows which have FT displayed crash. Strangely, other IE windows not on a FT page do not crash when this happens. All of this happend when I was NOT logged in, BTW.
Nope, just checked. Everything lists as Enabled.
Thanks for helping me with this!
Tools menu, manage add ons, enable/delete.
are any in the list shown as corrupted instead of enabled?

I am using Vista Ultimate x64 and IE7 and they are both rock solid and I have no problems with FT (or any other web site)! IE8 was however a different story and quickly got uninstalled!

Problem with Flash Player 6 in ad. Probably?

I just used another PC at school. After a few minutes on FT, a warning message showing something like "a problem with Flash Player 6 and the browser has to be closed." I clicked on it, and the FT browser was gone. I started another FT session and same thing happened again minutes later. I don't have such problem with my home PC (which I have admin priviledge, I don't think it matters though).
The add-on file in question is flash6.ocx.
I think some of the ads require Flash Player to load. If it safe to assume the local machines need another version of Flash Player? Or is it a software problem between FT and Flash Player?

I believe it's due to the local machines.

The XP machine is still lots more stable, but it does freeze up every so often as well.
Thanks again for your suggestions! I'll give them a try & let you know.

OK, at least my vista machine is not crashing anymore. It was linked to one of the add-ons, as suggested by lin821, but oddly, this only happened while I was using FT.
