Many years ago.... as in the old Prodigy days, if someone quoted or mentioned me in a response I would get notification when I logged in, pretty similar to the way facebook operates today.

I know I will get a notification here if some mentions me using @, but that's very rare.

I think I asked for this type of feature many years ago, but it's been so long, perhaps the software can do it now.

They're the same as what I get for a private message. In fact I get excited thinking I have private messages but it's just post quotes.

Really? Then I need to check my settings. It may have changed an I never noticed.

Is this the setting? I just turned it on. If it isn't, where is it?

Mary, I'm going to quote you. When you log in on My FlyerTalk, you should see that the bell in the upper right hand corner is gold. Click on it and it opens a box as shown in the attachment. I've been on too recently and have opened all my private messages and looked at my quotes, so I can't show you an example - but I hope that this shows you how to find it when you are quoted.

Thank you, but I didn't get any notification. I also don't have as many items listed under notifications. Perhaps it's a setting that I can't find anywhere. I looked under "options" and there isn't a choice for me. Since both of you are mods/admins perhaps you have more choices than the rest of us. Can you tell me where this setting is?

To take this one step further.... someone actually used the @ sign to mention me and I did not get a notification. This was Saturday night. I checked an my settings are all OK.

Did you possibly turn off notifications in your browser somehow that is browser-level rather than FT account level?

Are you perhaps logged into FT on multiple devices/browsers/windows and going back and forth between devices/browsers/windows at times or otherwise have “older” windows open with you logged into FT? I got into a situation for that before as my settings on one window/browser/device being updated by me didn’t seem to push over to my other logged in devices/browsers/windows when going back and forth among devices/browsers/windows where I had been logged into FT under a different set of options. I had to literally shut down and restart several devices and make sure not to restart all my browser windows (not in that order) before I sort of got myself out of that situation by clearing the browsers of everything.

Maybe FT/IB can tell you how many places you seem to be logged into your FT account at the same time or close enough to the same time if settings/options changes don’t seem to stick in terms of expected outcome.

Thanks. I'm pretty sure I have everything turned on properly. I get notifications for messages all the time, as well as emails. I will check yet again.

Just a thought. Are you using an ad blocker? If so, you will need to disable it to gain full benefit of notifications and other FT features

OK, I just PMed, quoted, tagged you, and liked your post. Any notifications? You may want to clear your browser's cache for FlyerTalk or try using Private/Incognito browsing or even another browser to see if any of those effect it.

Thanks [MENTION=790438]IBJoel[/MENTION]. I got the notification on FT for the PM AND an email indicating I had one. I got an email for the mention, but no notification on FT. I did not get anything when I was quoted.

I do use an ad blocker, but as an ambassador, I don't get ads anyway. I have turned it off for FT. But I was getting notifications for PMs in email and on FT.
