I was told that there is no more an FT app.

Too bad, that was one of the main ways I read Ft.

I've mentioned this to several friends, it is oxymoron that a web site for FF and they eliminate the app. We read it in taxis/airports wherever. And no, am not going to try a phone browser. The app was efficient and easy.

And yes, am posting from my computer, but won't be either reading nor posting.

Wow....

Congratulations, I guess.

You just managed to take a rather decent website that was visually appealing and trash it into something almost completely unreadable.

Well done.

Well said!

these ads are now way more intrusive than ever before. I'd be happy to pay FT $1 a month or $10 a year to support you, but this is too much. Also now that the APP no longer works due to the latest update, I'll probably be on here less frequently - i hate using the mobile skin.

This. Such tools exist for all platforms and all browsers, even iOS and Android.

I don;t know what platform you are using but for Android, .......er makes a browser that seems to work pretty well.

The website is far better than before on my Android phone.

Hate the adverts (on my pc) in the middle of / part way through threads - keep thinking I'm at the bottom of the page when there's 3/4 or so still to go.

If not their own app due to staff constraint, as least make it friendly to something like a tapatalk. 90% of my reading on flyertalk is on the app since it cuts down on the unnecessary graphics. This is just stupid greed.

I don't think you get my point. I'm not going to use the mobile site regardless of tools to block their ads. It's pathetic.

If they remove Ads, provide an App, then i'm happy to make a contribution. Until then, I'm not and i'll only use the site in a full browser

I understood your point and totally agree with it.

Personally I would prefer an android/ios app that maximized content and minimized everything else. In the absence of such an app, I will restrict my viewing to a laptop/tablet with a full site browser session.

This exactly. Happily would've spent the $10 to pay FT to provide me an ad-free environment without the negative quirks that now abound.

Perhaps in the next iteration IB/FT could offer a paid, ad-free option. I'm sure many of us who frequent FT would happily pay - providing IB/FT with a revenue source and removing the annoyance of the new ad layout.

While I'm not experiencing this, I do agree w/ it. If IB is going to have ads, then put them on the top, bottom, left, right as they've always done. But to break up a thread w/ ads between posts makes absolutely no sense.

Cheers.

And I also agree that the adds in the middle are extremely annoying and disruptive.
And you need to scroll much more on an I-Pad.

To your own detriment. IMHO, he mobile website is even easier to use than the app.

lalala Mar 30, 2016 10:15 am

Also, am part of the "faces of flyertalk" and was blessedly ad free. I am now seeing ads on mobile. Please add this to your to be fixed list.
