Slow today?
FT is a bit slow this morning for me and was since 6-7:00am, which is very unusual, and not a great omen! Perhaps the pop ups are doing it again?
Thanks.

It's possible it's the new ads, since another thread mentions errors caused by these.
I've contacted our ad company and requested that they check the new tags at their end as well as any campaigns being served in them.
I haven't noticed any slowdown, though, although I do see the bad ads. Is the board still crawling for you, and if so, is it restricted to certain forums, or all over?

Dan,
Actually the front "FT Miles" page (loaded incompletely twice before eventually finishing off properly) and the "Todays Active Topics" (finally loaded at 90 topics) page were both painfully slow from the outset. The rest of the board was not as bad as I progressed and seemed to improve rather than get a bit slower as it usually does.
Hope this helps!
Thanks very much.
Have a great weekend,
-Mark

Well, our ad people have pulled the Flash ad that may have been causing the slowdown on page displays, so let's see if that helps your situation out...

Dan, it's a little faster for me; but still crawling at times here.
FT Miles is much slower than FT Travel.
I'm on a DSL connection.

Are you getting timeout errors, or just slowdowns?

It is taking an average of over 2 minutes a page to load at present. I use DSL and usually am loaded in seconds. Once the banner adds load, the rest of the page follows.
I presume this is the same add agency that has screwed up over and over in the past?
This is the kind of stuff that shows absentee management, even though I think Dan is keeping an eye on things. Try taking off the banners and see if things work better!

FWIW, it seemed to worsen once again, sadly.

Sorry about this; We just got out of a meeting and lo and behold, FlyerTalk (and WebFlyer) are pokey again.
John contacted our host facility just now and they let him know that there's another server (some other client) behind their router that's flooding their network and that they're working on it. We don't have an eta, though.
The last time this happened, they had the bad box taken care of within an hour. Hopefully they'll be as quick this time...
Sorry about this; thanks for your patience.

We're receiving a lot of traffic today, but John's keeping an eye on the server to see if it's something else...
