Just placing them in your ignore list should do the trick. It should be blocking posts as well as PMs from them.

It doesn't seem to - I just ignored one guy ... I don't see his posts any more (just a 'click here to read post' thing) but I am still getting pop-ups when he PMs me, and I am still receiving email notifications that there are PMs being sent.

You're not getting the actual PMs, though? Just the notifications and popups?

Did this ever get resolved? I noticed a couple days ago this same thing happened to me.

Please contact me via PM with the user that you had blocked that contacted you. Thanks,

Tim, they didn't contact me. I simply noticed that I could see their posts again after they returned from their suspensions. That's all.

It seems that the Ignore function gets switched off somewhere during the suspension-and-reactivation process. It's really just a minor annoyance; I was simply curious if you were aware of it on the systems side.

BOING! 2 yr old thread, but it works for me.

Q: Does the Ignored know that s/he is being ignored? (with PMs, for example)

TIA

Tim at WebFlyer Oct 2, 2006 4:40 pm

They are not told that you are ignoring their message. No.

ignore option?

I see there is a "buddy" option. is there a control option to ignore certain users? thanks.

In My FlyerTalk, there is a link to both a Buddy and an Ignore list.

(Buddy list doesn't really serve any function since they've removed the Who's Online listing...)

thank you.

If you open a member's profile, there are options to add and remove them from your ignore list. You can also do this and manage your list of users on the list via this link, found on the left hand tool bar.

IIRC, you cannot ignore the posts of someone who is either an administrator or moderator of FlyerTalk.

Have you ever used the ignore user feature on Flyertalk?

I am trying to ignore a few users, but it seems to only work at the post level. Threads started by the user still show up here. Is there a way to ignore threads started by users on the list?

Sorry if this is the wrong forum for this question. Please move it if somewhere else would be better.

I raised this question once before (most likely for the same reason as you: because no one wanted to make changes to the definition of Travel Buzz to eliminate the current mess in the forum) and the answer seems to be that there is no way to do this and no desire to do it either since the thread might contain posts by others.
