same problem as Premex et al. using Netscape 4.71 US-Macintosh-version http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif
|
It's now 3 days since this problem was first reported, and there has been zero response from FT's techical staff. Is anyone home?
|
Beleive it or not we are listening...and trying to solve the problem as well. It's clearly a cookie problem but I've yet to discover the reason for it. My apologies for taking so long.
I'm consulting with UBB ( the creators of our BB software ) at the moment hoping that someone there will be able to help us figure out what our options are. As usual thank you very much for your continued patience. ------------------ ThanX... Michael at WebFlyer |
Thanks for the update.

No bulbs or folders on either IE 5 or Netscape 4.7. IE has been OK for the past 2 days, stopped working since this morning. No preferences being held, they were fine early this morning... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif |
Everything still working OK for me.
Sometimes the cookies get corrupted. IE5 stores cookies not only in the windows/temporary internet files folder but also in your windows/profiles/cookies and windows/profiles/ie5/content folders (and maybe some other places too!), eg. [email protected] and [email protected]. Do a search for all the places your weblyer or forumcgi cookies are located and make sure you delete them all (at least your flyer talk ones. Then go back to Flyertalk, log in, change preferences and make sure you check the radio button for allow it to store for one year (some of your's may have expired?, more than one year?, or just it can't calculate what one year is with the year rollover?) Who knows. Good luck though. I almost tore my hair out last year when this happened. No problems since other than the cookies occasionally getting corrupted, having to delete manually and reset. |
The world has returned to normal. The FlyerTalk light bulbs are lighting up again, just like the ones on the Christmas tree that is about to come down. And most important, my cookies are functioning as they should, meaning I don't have to consult a crib sheet to find my Password anymore.
What more could an FF ask for? (Well, yes, but it is a little early in the year for a 100K STAR alliance promo to match oneworld's...) |
Daily update...Jan 6th 10:35am
IE seems to be working OK today; it held the cookies I reset yesterday and I've got bulbs and folders working again. Not so with Netscape, still will not hold Preferences, therefore no bulbs or folders working. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif I prefer using Netscape to IE, so hopefully they can find a fix soon. |
so with my Macintosh-versions:
IE 4.5 (Mac) http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif Netscape 4.71 (Mac) http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif and I prefer Netscape (at least until MS introduces the new Mac-version IE 5.0 as announced yesterday). |
Cookie does not work! (netscape)
------------------ Viele Grüße Oliver |
I've tried the clear cookie function. I've tried clearing cookies manually. All I know is that I've still got cookie problems using Netscape 4.7.
|
To make the case more complicated .. I donwloaded and installed a Netscape browser on my computer and ......
Netscape 4.08 - cookies DO WORK IR 5.01 - cookies DON'T WORK Maannn, I'm lost ! I used to work on Netscape, but I switched to IE 5 and I must say that I like it ( except that it crashes sometimes http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif ) So what to do ? Cookie problem is back. No Username or Password comes up on this screen today. And no light bulbs on the index page. Bring the night shift back on!

Daily update - 2:00pm Pacific Time
IE still works fine with bulbs, folders & preferences being held. Seems a bit slower than Netscape 4.7 (when 4.7 works...which it still doesn't) http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif |
