Are thread titles word-wrapping correctly for you (as in, like they used to prior to the recent change)?

For those seeing changed behavior (other than the new header), could you please report your:

Resolution setting
Browser type
OS
Version of Browser

Appears to be happening only for a subset of users on specific equipment, so we'd like to narrow it (I for instance do not see the issue using Windows 7, Firefox 18, 1280x1024 -- no problems on Chrome 24 or IE9 either).

Resolution: 1024 x 768 (and also a problem up to 1152 x 864)
Browser: Chrome 24
OS: Windows 7

ETA: Firefox 18.0 is on the same machine, but it displays correctly.

Problem is with -
Resolution setting: 1024 x 768 (stretched)
Browser: Firefox version 17.0.1 & version 18.0 & Safari 6.0.2
OS: Mac OS X 10.7.5

Using a MacBook Pro. the settings have been unchanged for years.
My screenshot would be exactly as AeroWesty has posted above.

My MB AIr and my ipad are now working fine with whatever you have fixed.

Why is 1280 the new standard?

People still use 1024x768.

With the change to the banner, with ads blocked, it still scrolls with the only content being the banner, use to fill the screen no scroll.

On the iPad with ads blocked it's just white space, with the banner being the only thing in that area, use to fill the screen.

+1 Not experiencing a problem with any other website, period, except FT. MilePoint.com still displays beautifully...

Are you telling us the majority of FTers have resolution no less than 1280?

Exactly! +1001 ^

My 10-year-old ThinkPad is still going strong and not giving me any problem surfing the web except for FT since the day IB implemented a stupid "fix" that calls for higher resolution and sideways scrolling.

I hope it's worthy enough a fix for iPad format in the expense of the remaining FTers w/1024x768 resolution. I can't tell how FT is better with a New Flyertalk Header that can't be done properly.

Is FT so trend-setting to be a site that requires 1280 resolution since January 16, 2013? I guess I miss the site-wide global announcement on FT!

FWIW, both IE & Firefox don't provide me a normal" FT experience" on my laptop running XP Pro w/ 1024x 768 resolution.

OTOH, MilePoint is still as beautiful as their Day One on my computer screen.

My laptop is 1024 x 768, and flyertalk has become a pain to read since this latest change.

Not that it matters, but it's XP, Chrome.

I don't understand why it matters what resolution most people use (though one would actually think that on a board supposedly about travel a good amount of people will be using smaller screens than the general public), what matters is until a while ago it worked, and now it doesn't.

No other bulletin board I visit has this issue, and a monkey could program it to see the difference in what device it's being read on so it renders correctly. To say any resolution less than some number requires scrolling is just lazy programming or unskilled programmers.

Especially since it worked fine until a couple weeks ago.

The base problem is that FT introduced hard, static areas for data to reside in to replace dynamic, flexible areas in some parts of the website. But I'm a bit hard-pressed myself to understand why screen resolution matters as well.

One of their programmers can see this phenomenon quite easily if they were to open a single post, then expand and contract the browser window horizontally. The text box will self-adjust and word-wrap automagically in the dynamic window.

Now you tell me! Why hasn't IB got a monkey yet?

Same here, my X60 (1024x768) still is kicking along as the most stable machine I've ever owned.

Thats the thing, they have broken iPad format as well, with ads blocked, it use to fill the entire iPad screen, now I'm stuck with a huge whitespace area where the ad's would normally be.

Even running at higher resolutions 1920 etc, I still increase IE to 150% as most websites don't fill the screen and the text is just too small. At 2048x1536 Retina RDP on the iPad, I run IE at 175%

At 2048 100% the word submit can be part seen on the Magnify Glass icon of the search box.
