I've recently noticed a slowdown of notifications. Not completely clogged but enough to notice. I especially noticed the issue with PM notifications.

Standby, we're examining the possibility of doing a "Forced Send" (which should theoretically unclog the drain, so to speak), but are looking at if we can target it a little more precisely.
I just checked with my Spam service to see if things got blocked on their end, and they see no emails coming to them from flyertalk.com in the recent past. So it definitely seems to be on the sending end. They suggest that my email may have been added to a "suppression" list bounced on a single bounce in the past. Not sure of the details of your config, but that's one idea they had. Thanks for looking into this. Cheers. |
Just received this:

The first step of this email test script has been completed. However, a formatting test is still necessary: A paragraph break. A single line break. Another paragraph break. Another single line break. Another single line break. If the above lines look correct, you are finished. The email features on your server are setup correctly. If this email is run together on one line, there is possibly a configuration error with your mail server. Please ensure it is configured correctly. |

From Tech:
Many large service providers such as Verizon, AOL and MSN are implementing aggressive filtering. In many cases, the customers of these providers can place the email address you use for notification in their contact list and then your emails will be allowed through. If this doesn't work, you should contact the provider in question and ask to be placed on their whitelist. Some providers will charge a listing fee for this. In addition, AOL (and possibly others) will not accept emails from domains that do not have reverse DNS setup. It's possible these emails are being placed into a spam folder or are being filtered. |
Thanks Joel,
I have checked with my spam filtering service (where this address is whitelisted) and they have checked logs indicating that nothing has come to them during the time period when a number of threads on which I'm registered would have sent notifications and they saw nothing at all. So it's not being filtered by them as it is never getting to them. Cheers, |
Did anyone besides TomM receive a test email?

Any update on this?
