When did the advanced search option become so much weaker?
Excuse me if this has been asked before. I was just wondering why I can no longer search for all threads started by a particular user, for example. Lots more advanced search features disappeared as well.
Is this how search was "fixed," by making it less useful?

Search has been an issue for a long time, and it's still far from perfect, but no changes have been made that I've noticed since probably 2008 or so.
And FWIW, I do see the option to search for all threads started by a user. Are you sure you're looking at the right screen?

I do not see anything different in search either. I tested to make sure it is working properly and my results were accurate. The "Find threads started by user" option is located in the same place, the drop-down menu under "User Name". See Screenshot.

Curious. Now I am trying to remember where I initiated a search from and didn't see that option. Unfortunately, I'm not having much luck as apparently my memory is failing me yet again.
