I don't see anything different in the Advanced Search screen than I have for the last couple of years.

Search has been an issue for a long time, and it's still far from perfect, but no changes have been made that I've noticed since probably 2008 or so.

And FWIW, I do see the option to search for all threads started by a user. Are you sure you're looking at the right screen?
