I completely agree, and was previously unaware that CC posts were excluded from post counts.

I'm relatively new to this forum so I may still be ignorant of the benefits of posts. But once someone has the 90/90 under their belt, what dif does it make how many posts someone has? Are there other benefits or reasons to the number of posts? Just curious ...

I too was unaware that CC posts were not counted, but why count some forums, not count others, and debate still others?
What is the difference between these posts:
1) "Thanks" (in S.P.A.M.) = counted
2) "YHPM" (in CC) = not counted
3) "12345" (in OMNI) = counted but debated
Either count ALL posts in ALL forums or count NO posts in ANY forum!

I missed the memo on CC posts not counting and thought they did. If the number games in OMNI can count, then posts in CC should.

If the TB members were to be consistent, 4 would be in favor of counting CC posts and 5 would be against -- and this motion, too, would fail.

I absolutely support this. I hope a TB member makes a move to motion for it.

No one has confirmed or denied it, but as I said upthread, I believe the reason to not have them count in CC was to get rid of coupon brokers with access to the forum.
IF that was the reason, and it is keeping them out, then I support keeping it as it is (posts not counting).
If it's not working, well, then the posts should count just as all others count.

They have to get their 90 posts outside Coupon Connection before they can even make their first post in Coupon Connection.
I do not understand this logic.

There's no logic in the post because I left out a key part of what I was trying to say.... that it was made retroactive to get rid of the coupon brokers. Here's my clarification (post #12 above)

I just better keep quiet about this, I keep on leaving out parts of what I"m trying to say.
Or, better yet... tell me I'm wrong and I won't say it any longer

I'll also agree with the crux of this thread -- count posts or don't count posts, but make it consistent either direction. Part of me feels that FT has gotten to a point where post counts are largely irrelevant anyway.

I agree - as long as it is consistent, the count doesn't matter to me whether it is 100 or 11,000. I'm more inclined to look at the "join date". To me, a date of March 2001 is more likely to be responded to than one showing March 2007! (Although I wouldn't say the March 2007 poster is not trustworthy!)

(But I agree.)
