Then motions ought to be implemented immediately without waiting the entire two weeks as soon as 5 TB members vote for it. Keep voting open so that the others can show unanimity (or not) if they want to, but no reason to wait.

It takes 6 yes votes if all 9 members vote, otherwise it's a 2/3 majority of the number of cast votes.

The president will often close a vote if all 9 have voted but the voting period has not expired.

Members might be interested to read that the Germany forum being implemented - based on members requests and discussion for it over several months here - went to a vote Jan 25 and the result was publicly posted for all member info by spiff on request of the President, on Jan 28, all members having already voted (8-1):

I really do not think TB can attract any criticism there for being tardy with prompt communication.

However .. having said that I am sure someone will find reason to complain we are acting too rapidly or too openly or too recklessly.

Moved by bhatnasx and seconded by ozstamps that:

All motions that are duly seconded and put before TalkBoard for a vote shall be posted in a new thread in the public TalkBoard Topics Forum along with the voting start/end period.

Motions on topics related to the internal administration of TalkBoard (such as election of officers) and some topics requested for discussion or input by Randy Petersen and/or members of the House of Miles staff will be exempted from this public posting requirement.
