Will there be an option to nominate a candidate?

As Arthur Dent pointed out to us in one of the 4 volumes of the Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Universe trilogy , the best person to lead may not believe they're suitable for the role...

Here's your chance. Through July 31, we will be accepting applications from members who would like their names entered into the next FlyerTalk TalkBoard election.

.....

In August, four new members will be popularly elected to the TalkBoard -- three to replace exiting members, and one to fill a newly created position -- bringing the Board to a total of nine members. To throw your name into the ring of candidates, simply complete the application to the right. Voting will take place on the FlyerTalk Web site from Aug. 1 through Aug. 31.

I'm fine with nominating someone, bu unless that person wishes to be placed on the ballot, then it may not be productive. Got someone in mind? Pass that name along to me and i'll chat with the potential candidate to make sure they are receptive.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I might also suggest that anyone who wants to nominate someone talk to that person directly.

If they are interested, then they can apply.

I know I have already talked to a few people and that seems to work... and they seem sincerely surprised that I thought they would be a good candidate.

Scott,

Never said I was finished, now did I?

Besides, you already indicated you were running...

When will the next elections be ?

Or will the new members change the TalkBoard rules and stay as lifetime members ?

The following elections (after the currently scheduled ones) will be around the same time next year (actually a little later, application in August 2004 and elections in September 2004. Lifetimes are only at the pleasure (vote) of the members themselves.
