Receive Starpoints or credit for declining housekeeping.

See the Starwood Green Choice Program Description & FAQ for details.

Green Choice options, awarded at check out for each night you decline housekeeping services (except day of departure) :
North America & Europe/Middle East
500 Starpoints, at participating Sheraton, Westin, Luxury Collection, Le Méridien, St. Regis and W locations.
250 Starpoints at participating Aloft, Element and Four Points by Sheraton locations.
Or $5 USD (amount may change based on location/region) voucher at participating food and beverage outlets within the hotel.
Latin America
Participating hotels provide a 250 Starpoint option or $5 Food & Beverage option only
Asia Pacific
Participating hotels provide a 250 Starpoint option only.

The maximum number of Green Choice nights allowed is determined by each hotel, but is normally 3 consecutive nights. For longer stays, after housekeeping on the 4th night, you can usually then have another 3 consecutive Green Choice nights.

+1. That list is useless. It doesn't shown ANY San Francisco hotels. Yet the Westin St. Francis has been offering the program since 2009.

Makes sense since the url provides only Sheraton properties.

So please let us know where the links are to other Starwood hotels. Or is there a master list the public can access?

Plus you might want to get the Sheraton list updated. If you click on Bloomington, Minnesota, this hotel comes up:

Sheraton Bloomington Hotel, Minneapolis South
7800 Normandale Blvd. • Bloomington, Minnesota 55439 United States

Last time I checked, that hotel is now the:

DOUBLETREE BY HILTON BLOOMINGTON – MINNEAPOLIS SOUTH

Checked in to the Four Points Shenzhen and was given the option to opt in. I guess China is starting to adopt this program as well.

Well there is a Westin site http://www.starwoodpromos.com/westin...OICE_PROMOTION

But that also is incomplete, The Westin Lake Las Vegas participates but it's not on the list.

I've stayed in a number of SPG properties in Asia/NA in the last couple of months -- they all seem to offer the green choice program, but they don't all seem to know how it works (or user error on my part.) My ability to actually get the 500 points has been hit and miss. Vancouver Westin told me 'no points' because I asked for coffee one day.

Well, I just completed a stay at the Sheraton Tucson Hotel & Suites. Not listed even though it definitely participates in the Make a Green Choice program. Brochures in the room and hang tags encourage guests to participate.

Hi all,

I was alerted a discussion over at another forum regarding the "Make a Green Choice" program.

Unfortunately, it is not appropriate for me to respond to any postings over at a competitor's channel.

Since there are a couple of members who visit both forums, do allow me to clarify over here.

·.The "Make A Green Choice" is offered at seven of our nine brands (excludes St Regis and Element).
·.Four Points and aloft properties offer a choice or ether 250 StarPoints or $5 F&B voucher.
· Sheraton, Westin and Le Meridien properties offer a choice or either 500 StarPoints or $5 F&B voucher..
·.W and Luxury Collection properties offer 500 StarPoints only.
·.There is no "capping" to the number of points earned per stay.

Frankly, I would ditch both the Westin and Sheraton urls as a resource since they are no longer being updated.

By the end of the year, MAGC will be a brand standard for 7 of our 9 brands so all hotels within those 7 brands, with a very few exceptions, will be offering it.

Not that I don't believe SW Lurker's info of this becoming a standard offering. :-D But that is still about six months out.

But can we develop a list here of known places that does offer points already? If the mods agree, I am willing to volunteer time to collate the list :-)

Thoughts?

Well another good news for Asia:

Le Meridien Bangkok is now offering to opt out as well. I just checked-in and was asked at the desk whether I was interested. I would get in return 2 vouchers for F&B consumptions for 125 THB each or, if i turned these vouchers in at check-out, they would convert them into 500pts each. So a total of 1000pts for a 3 night stay.
