-6X Points in the bonus categories
-Diamond Status with 40K annual spend on the card

Canadian SPG AMEX is not even offering sign up bonus points as of yesterday or today. What a horror.
Instead It is offering statement credit.

Just to confirm, there is no change in accrual for spending at MR/SPG properties, just on the un-bonused spend?

Anyone know if July 31st we earn 1x SPG, and August 1st we earn 2x Marriott (either by transaction date or post date)? I'm trying to earn as many SPG points as I can while I can, but statement hits in a few days. Don't want the entire last half of July to end up as Marriott points because my statement hits in the middle of August.
Amex told me over chat (though I never believe these people...):
so you're saying if I spend $1 on July 31st I will get 1 SPG point. On August 1st I will get 2 Marriott points?

usually points are awarded based on your statement, so that's why I'm trying to confirm.

that is correct, after aug 1, this rate will change and ..
Denzel - Jul 10, 2018 10:59 AM
after that points will be rewarded as new rate

My next statement date will be August XXth (or so), so you're saying I'll receive a mix of BOTH SPG and Marriott points in that statement for spending? SPG points for July spending, Marriott points for August?

that is correct, however, we will issue the spg points from here , spg and Marriott have been merged

Marriott/Starwood merger closed; FAQs; Status Match; MR & SPG accounts can be linked

Yes. I could swear that was answered in the one of these 2 threads, but I can't find it.
