I would like to book two rooms with two adults each, for 6 nights. I understand platinum benefits will not apply to both rooms; mostly I am focused on club lounge access.
Can I book one room for two adults in one hotel, book another room for two adults in another hotel which is right across the street. That way all 4 adults will have access to the lounge for 6 days.
The only problem is that we won't be together in the lounge. Could both hotels allow us to go all 4 adults together for 3 days and not use their lounge in the other 3 days?

"Sheraton Club Lounge access is limited to the eligible Card Member and a guest staying in the same room for the duration of the stay, regardless of how many rooms have been reserved."

That would actually be counter to what the terms and conditions of this benefit say:
"Sheraton Club Lounge access is limited to the eligible Card Member and a guest staying in the same room for the duration of the stay, regardless of how many rooms have been reserved."

Sorry that I've this situation and would like to ask what I should be expecting:
I booked 5 rooms under my name at our contracted rate, 4 rooms for my clients for 3 nights, one for myself for 4 nights
Should I expect to have 3 x 2 + 4 (my room) = 10 nights and starpoints calculated based on 2 highest spending 3 nights rooms + my room credited to my account? Currently the hotel credited 9 nights and credited starpoints based on the 3 highest spending 3 nights rooms and ignored my room which has 1 more night and much higher spending (as all the F&B are booked under my room)
Thanks

My personal approach is to not give them the choice. If booking more rooms than I should be getting credit, then I split the reservations with other SPG accounts (if any travelling with me) and make sure all charges are put on my room. There's no reason to leave any credit on the table if you can help it.

I book and pay for two rooms - credit for 1?
I am a SPG Platinum member and renewing my status is something that is beneficial to me as I travel frequently.
I often book two rooms when travelling, the second for family, friends, colleagues etc. I'll pay for them and they'll be in my name. Lately I've noticed that some hotels will add the guests names to the room and then the stays are not being credited to my account.
Is the above correct, that the stays won't be credited or since that I make the booking, it is ultimately in my name and that I pay for it - should be given the SPG credits?

I have done this many times and in many jurisdiction you need to enter the persons name who actually stays in the room into the fd system, however I always make a point to at checkout requesting two invoices one for each room which I then pay for one by one. At least from me this have never been a problem. Alternatively you could put the charges of the second room onto the bill of your room, this have glitched a few times but after emailing scanned bills to spg it always worked out in the end

If the above answer is NO, then send your folios to the research department email.

I always question a FD agent when they "helpfully" do that, and despite their assurances to the contrary, it never fails to post incorrectly. The hassle is compounded when it's a BRG claim inolving the 2k bonus per room: you have to chase with the BRG team AND the research team. My latest stay was 3 weeks ago and still not fixed.

Do keep all folios until credit has been posted and contact SPG each and every time it fails.

2 rooms in 2 properties
I presume the answer is a no but if I book 2 rooms in separate adjacent properties, can I get the credit for both rooms or will it become an issue due to the overlap?

Nope. Will only get points/stay for one. Then again errors have been known to happen... and rumoured to have been corrected too.

Correct. If you read the T&Cs they state the member must stay and pay. Given normal circumstances, it is deemed impossible for you to be in two places at once. Yes, there can be exceptions, but that wasn't in the post. And, of course, presuming of the same chain. One SPG and one MR would get you credit in both for now.

I need to blast out 7 stays to get back to Plat for an upcoming trip (fell to gold for first time in 14 years) and need then another 9 nights to hit 500 before Dec 31, so want to check my math...
For the 7 stays (which will get me to 25), I can do C+P x 3 rooms on a Wed (3), then a Friday (3) to net 6 stays and then just one more on another night to hit 25 stays, right?
That will get me to 491 nights, so I just need 10 more nights, again doing 3 x rooms, it is 3 "visits" (3x3=9)?
Thanks!

Yes, if those 7 stays of 1 night each will put you at 491 nights, then any combination of 10 more nights should put you over the top for LTP, presuming you have the years. If you have cheap properties available to you, maybe consider changing some of those 7 stays to 2 night stays and just leave after the first night and get there quicker.
