Poo in the Sheets
Most troubling experience at a hotel to date... I'll keep this brief:
Overnight layover in a big city after traveling the better part of a day. I'll refrain from naming the city and hotel (for now). Check-in the SPG "Category 5" hotel around 7:50pm, change and freshen up, go to dinner in city and a cocktail with friends, return to said hotel around 11:45. Dead tired, change into pajamas and climb into bed exhausted.
Next morning, prepare to go to brunch with friends. Wife decides to repack most of her clothes so she folds the sheets down. Poo on inside sheet (between the sleeper/mattress) and exposed to our knee areas (gross pic here for the unsqueamish). Wife screams and starts dry heaving—immediately calls desk and demands manager. I have her tell them to come in a few minutes so we can shower and clean up. She's livid. She's religiously checked our sheets after finding pubes in our bed at the Westin Denver years ago, but we were exhausted.
10-15 minutes later there's a knock. Hotel manager and 2 other employees. Want an awkward situation? Try having three people examine poop closely while you pack your things. Wife has to be in another room while the poop is exposed. Manager comes to me and let's me know the room will be comped (though I prepaid it a few months ago—guess I'll wait for a credit), I tell him I agree and let him know my wife's more disturbed than I am.
We'd obviously slept in a strangers poop that night. Shiver...
Wife can't be there any longer so we decide to go to a friends place until our flight that afternoon. Check out and I keep things quiet with an associate at the desk; am assured the rate will be credited to my card.
Not sure where I should go from here. I guess the manager did his part...I guess. Not really looking for freebies or status flexing, but wow this is troubling. Wife refuses to stay at this certain hotel chain in the future. Should I send an email to corporate?
Also, waiting on our Primary Doctor to get back from Holiday for advice on transmissible diseases or infections. We've scrubbed ourselves and belonging since we've been home. Can anyone shed light on that?
Cheers.
Edit: By request, the property was the Aloft Brooklyn. Not doing this as a smear campaign though (pun unintended).

Bad housekeeping. Very bad!
But, You've "scrubbed your belongings"? Your wife won't stay in any hotel w/in that chain?
I assume you're exaggerating these actions/reactions and you're looking for a bigger payout.
Good luck.

I would so the incident could be documented, if nothing else. If you need assistance in doing so, send me the confirmation number via Private Mail here at Flyertalk.

And why are you not willing to share the name of the property? I am always amazed at people who come here to FT for help but refuse to name properties to help others.

We've had issues with grungy rooms and unsavory stays in this hotel brand before, and my wife's had enough, so... no "lower end" Starwood hotels in our future (fine by me).

Nasty...
...we found blood on ours at a resort property in MX a few years ago.
They brought a new mattress, new sheets and gave us back all our points.
Thought it was very fair.

This is absolutely disgusting. I never really check hotel sheets. I guess it's a time to start..

I'm surprised you have to ask if you should send this to corporate. I'd have had them on the horn while the manager was still in the room, along with making a call to the local health department. It's not just a bad housekeeping problem. They're supposed to change the linens completely between guests & obviously they didn't. I doubt that's the only room that didn't get a complete change-out that day or any other day.
