Don't forget the awful $30 (plus tax, I presume, so ~$33) per night "resort fee"

Is Tribute a brand for the U.S. Southeast? Weird.
While all in the SE, those are all trendy destinations in the past few years. Plus, Nashville has boomed and is a pretty big operation now...SPG is sorely lacking there.

What I find weird is that 3 out of 4 of these destinations (Savannah, Asheville, Charleston) are home to Kessler Collection hotels (i.e. the hotels that were the launch properties for Autograph).

If it were London, Paris, New York then one could plead coincidence but this would suggest to me that either Kessler Collection is leaving Autograph to join Tribute or someone at SPG is struggling for original ideas.

I would think that maybe they are not happy with the Autograph collection (or maybe just signed a short contract) and are now looking to make a move to Starwood? Didn't the Bohemian hotels have an association with Starwood before going independent and joining the Autograph collection? I seem to remember the property in Orlando being part of SPG.

Planters Inn's are in both Savannah and Charleston so that could potentially be another option which would cover those two areas.

With the proliferation of hotel brands over the past few years, I feel like they are running out of ideas for new names.

I'm not sure what associations we are supposed to get from "Tribute", but nothing about it reads hotel to me.

As often happens, Flyertalkers have got hold of this before the 'official' launch. To keep the discussion in one place, I'll also close this thread and invite further discussion in the thread signposted by Alice in the post above.

If you have any question or points raised in this thread which have not been answered, please feel to repost.

Thank you for your understanding.
