I believe all offers sent out on November 10 with the two free nights face this issue. The terms stated December 1, 2015 although in the body of the promotion it said March 31, 2015. It seems like it was an error on starwoods as two dates were given. You confirmed it was an error and that the landing page would be updated with December 31 (not sure if it was). It seems like that march 31 date is stilling the system though and Starwood needs to take a look at it for all registered accounts. I'm weary in sending my info as that means all accounts will not be resolved as they should be.

Can you please make sure Starwood takes a look into this error for all enrolled accounts for the free two nights offer. It has happened to everyone I've spoken to. It's an error across, not just my account. Thanks!

My apologies, but I am unable to view all accounts registered for this that have them in their Earned Awards, so I can't really answer that.

ETA: Since there were several offers made, it could be that your specific offer may expire on 03/31/15. That is why I asked for your SPG account number...so I could specifically reply to your inquiry by seeing what it is you had enrolled in.

I have a different reading of the SPG T&C. Eligible nights are said to be those booked at eligible rates per SPG's T&C on the home page.

http://www.starwoodhotels.com/prefer...spg_terms.html

from 2.1D:

"D. An "Eligible Rate" is the rate an SPG Member pays for a stay in a guest room at an SPG Participating Hotel unless:
(1) the guest room was booked through a tour operator, online travel channel or other third party channel including, without limitation, expedia.com, hotwire.com, priceline.com, orbitz.com, booking.com, travelocity.com, ctrip.com, and elong.com;
(2) the guest room was booked at a group rate as part of an event, meeting, conference or organized tour, and the SPG Member does not directly pay the SPG Participating Hotel for such room;
(3) the guest room was booked at a tour operator, wholesaler, or crew room rate including, without limitation, STARNet and STARPRO;
(4) the guest room was booked at an employee or friends and family rate or a Starwood business rate;
(5) the guest room was provided complimentary; or
(6) a voucher or third party award (e.g., Aeroplan room award, Air Miles room award) was redeemed for the guest room."

You might have missed this - from the Terms and Conditions with regards to Cash & Points and Free Night Awards:

"9) Cash & Points Award stays and nights do not qualify toward any promotions requiring stays or nights; however, Cash & Points Award stays and nights from October 1, 2011, onward do qualify as an eligible stay or nights toward earning elite levels."

"(5) Free Night Award stays and nights do not qualify toward any promotions requiring nights or stays; however, Free Night Award stays and nights from October 1, 2011 onward do qualify as an eligible stay or night toward earning elite levels."

The spirit of this is carried forward in 5.2.c of the larger Terms and Conditions of the program:

5.2.c. If an SPG Member redeems an SPG Promotion Rewards that include free nights (e.g., Free Weekend Night Awards, Free Resort Night Awards) for up to three guest rooms on the same date at the same SPG Participating Hotel after October 1, 2011, he/she will earn Eligible Nights and Eligible Stays for such rooms for purposes of earning Elite Preferred Guest Membership Status, SPG Lifetime Gold Status and SPG Lifetime Platinum Status if the SPG Member stays in one of the rooms; however, such nights and stays will not count towards achieving any milestones required to obtain another SPG Promotion Reward.

Clearly listed (which I hadn't seen), but if I do what I'm told to do in the promo T&C -- which is to look for the definition of "eligible rate" in the program T&C -- I come away with the impression that all rates booked through SPG are eligible.

I got an offer...

... which had nothing to do with this promo (I think). If I book three stays using the SPG mobile app and pay with my SPG AMEX card, then I get... Now hold on to your hats... 1500 bonus points. That's enough for... absolutely nothing.

http://spgpromos.com/appamexbonus/

I'm racing to make those new bookings.

Question "We Think You're Ready for More"

Ladies and gentlemen: how many readers on this forum had been invited to join this promotion (mine was received Nov 10 last year)? Kind of a painful promotion for me (as I usually have many nights on each stay)... And wonder how that combines with the Double Play promotion that just came up.

Maybe the Lurkers are back from holidays?

Welcome back William!

Thanks moderator for moving this back to the right thread.

So this is a real twisted promotion... Need to be innovative to break some of my stays into two, as i have overall average of 3 nights+ per stay, even though now i see i got a nice offer from spg!

So, william, this is cumulative to double play, right?

I can't think of any reason why it shouldn't be, but you'd have to satisfy the terms and conditions of both to get both.

After all, it says this same thing in the FAQ for SPG Double Play:

Can I take advantage of other bonus promotions at the same time?

Yes. However, each promotion earns bonuses independently of each other.
