This Wiki is helpful for those of us trying to identify if we're getting a good rate or if it may be better to wait until a better rate comes along.
As such, please list the lowest rate you've ever seen at a property that is available to the general public (this excludes SET rates, Gov't rates and AARP). We will include AAA rates, since anyone can join AAA and be eligible.
Please be sure to:
1- list the mo/year the rate was good for (NOT the month you found the rate). This will allow us to see seasonality. So, for example if you find a rate lower than one shown below for the same season (spring, summer, winter or fall) - replace the rate you found with the new one. If you found it in a different season or year, just add it below the rate - and leave the rate shown.
2- list the type of rate you found or where you found it (if not on Starwood). If you found the rate off Starwood - please list "all in" rate (including taxes & fees you were charged).
3- list the rates in local currency (which removes currency fluctuations).

I just booked the Westin Madrid Palace for 159 Euros/night + tax at the end of August using Hot Escapes SPG Member Rate.
Thanks TravelinSperry and Pricesquire for the thread and hotel quote that got me comfortable booking a non-refundable rate. Usually my commitment issues keep me from going pre-paid.

Added Westin Long Beach which if you are born in the 60's or earlier has a birth year offer of $189 + your birth year for 2 nights resulting in $109 per night or less.

South Korea, Seoul - Westin Chosun at USD150/night. Fantastic property, great hardware and unbeatable location. Abit uppity and snobbish but Platinums get good recognition and generally suite upgrades.
Macao/Macau(China/Hong Kong) - Sheraton Macao Cotai Central at HKD 1250/night. Objectively low rate and another sublime property. Suite is amazing and Platinums get fantastic recognition and upgrades. Club lounge is huge and happy hour is the best. Hot food is dinner buffet style lavish.

This old thread came in handy... I found a rate at a property on the list and didn't know if it was a good or poor rate (It was a Cyber Monday deal). But it was $17 per day lower than I found it in 2014. No way my memory would've pulled that out of my brain.

For example, over the past several years, we've regularly gotten the Le Méridian San Francisco far cheaper than the stated $169, including a $129 rate in the very month quoted (December 2013). This year, we got it for $111/night in December. In fact, I don't think I've paid as much as the "lowest rate ever" for any other property in the list either.

For example, over the past several years, we've regularly gotten the Le Méridian San Francisco far cheaper than the stated $169, including a $129 rate in the very month quoted (December 2013). This year, we got it for $111/night in December. In fact, I don't think I've paid as much as the "lowest rate ever" for any other property in the list either.
Actually, I've never paid much attention to this thread, but I do see the value and made 2 contributions. Le Meridien Etoile has come up twice on Travel Zoo (which redirects to SPG website) for some very good rates. Also saw Sheraton Waikiki below $200 last year.
