My apologies, but I know of no workaround that would allow them to be attached under the circumstances.

I realize it's just speculation, but wouldn't it be possible the hotel made a change to the rez to look like they did it? Is there any history that would show if the OP booked it online or with SPG and the local update is blocking the SNA? Is this one of those "glitches" in the program?

According to reservation history, the property made this one from the start. It is not a glitch because award reservations are not supposed to be made that way.

I am curious whether hotels have any incentive to accept the SNAs? I requested SNA at Sheraton New York on two separate stayes of one night each recently. Both were denied. But upon check in, both times I got free upgrades to a nice suite. So I came out ahead without using any SNAs. Would Sheraton New York have anything to gain if they accepted my SNAs?

Discussion: 10 Suite Nights (SNAs) for Plats with 50 nights in calendar year (MERGED)

No dice on sna awards on a stay in Paris. Day before check-in the hotel was offering about a dozen different types of reservations for suites through a series of packages. Ambassador was unable to help...
I think I'm 0/3 on sna when I requested anything more than a 1 night sna. Lack of transparency makes these pretty useless

Very interested in the answer on whether the hotels are reimbursed on sna's. I know at hyatt they are not, but the res center has ability to see sna inventory (and they confirm in advance)

No luck for 3rd time

Three strikes so far...

Hopefully the fourth try works for summer vacation in Hawaii.

At this rate, I'm going to end up using them for single night business trips for myself just so they get used up.

Is there a way to see what suites are in the SNA pool before you make a reservation?
it seems that i can only see the list of suites that the SNA can be requested for after i have made a reservation. of course i could do a dummy booking but i was hoping to avoid that.
i looked for the answer in this thread but it's 1343 posts long.

Unfortunately, no, there isn't a way that I've found.

Have you tried working with the Lurkers to find out if you are being a victim of their glitches? The more data points they have the better they might be able to fix them.

Have a reservation at W Downtown New York for next week, and it says that suite night awards can not be applied to the reservation. I tried several dummy bookings and all of them come up with the same note for this property. Can the Lurkers chime in with any ideas on why SNAs cannot be used here? These SNAs continue to be more frustration than anything.

I had them check in to the first one.

It is working as expected; unfortunately, the room types being offered as SNA upgrades never became available (I checked the SPG site repeatedly each time).

In one case, I was able to secure a "better" upgrade at check-in, but not the others two times. The properties were essentially sold out each time according to the SPG site...

Just an update on my SNA at Westin Mission Hills Resort...

-At first i couldn't request an SNA. Got an error message. Lurkers and Plat Concierge told me nothing they could do, "because the hotel made the reservation in their system"???
-Called hotel, they said it's up to the computers and they have no control over SNA
- 2 days out I rebooked my reservation online. Saw standard suites available for sale. Requested SNA. Nothing. Called Plat Conc. They called hotel. I was told nothing available...then (wait for it)...poof, availability i see online disappears.

i love SPG, but this is a joke. I cancelled my reservation this weekend (included 3 rooms) and we're staying elsewhere --- non spg.

thanks

First we are the "SPG lounge policy police", now the "SPG SNA beta tester fixers"?? Is this a joke?

They arent glitches...SPG has no control over the hotels!

Yeah, I commented on this somewhere before in the 1,300 posts. It's a major weakness of the program. I have been in a position where the availability of suite upgrades would influence which room I booked (or which hotel I booked, if there were multiple options in a city). Even looking at the generic room hierarchy before you book doesn't necessarily imply which suites will be offered (even if every category were hypothetically available).

Another to the benefit due to this aspect.

Is this funny? After so many SNA rejections that I won't be able to use them by the time they expire, I finally had a 1nt confirmation, 5 days out. Arrived at the property and the suite wasn't ready. As I didn't want to wait around until evening, I accepted a lower category and wasted the SNA. At least I have 1 less SNA to dispose of before expiration.

Did you check in early? If not, I find that unacceptable.
