Yes. SPG members who completed 50 or more eligible nights in 2011 will receive 10 Suite Night Awards in their account on March 1, 2012. Those Suite Night Awards will expire on December 31, 2013. If a SPG member has 50 or more Eligible Nights during calendar year 2012, they will earn 10 Suite Night Awards that will also expire on December 31, 2013.

Thanks... But I am still confused when SNAs are posted. It seems suggesting that they will only post on 3/1 each year

They will process "shortly" after earned (i.e. 50 nights have posted to your account). I'm not sure if it's a weekly scan or monthly. Do not expect them the day after you hit 50 nights.

I am curious because I was rejected twice recently at the same hotel yet I was upgraded both times upon check in. If the incentive is practically nil, I know that next time at this hotel even with a reject I still have a reasonable chance for upgrade. The hotel is simply not that motivated to let the automatic process choose the upgrades. If the incentive is somewhat meaninful, then I know that a reject means little chance of upgrade at check in.

I had a recent experience where the SNAs did not clear immediately at 5 days out, and I was seeing availability of the room type online. The Lurkers looked in to it, and the room type was slightly different (a matter of view, sometimes not obvious in the room description). The SNA didn't clear before arrival; however, at arrival, I asked if an upgrade was available, and got the room with the "better" view, and my SNAs didn't get used.

While I appreciate the comment above, I am still baffled. I am trying to use 2 SNAs for Friday/Saturday of this week and the room appears to be available for booking on the SPG site but they are "still working" on my SNA. They did not really give me a choice of many rooms to upgrade to (i.e., there was one kind of suite available) and this one appears word for word the same. This confusion about the hidden details appears to be a defect in the system.

Thanks; rereading the email they indicated that they will check daily at 2pm their time, so I'll give them another day.

An enhancement I would like is the ability to indicate the priority of my preferences for SNA redemption.
For example, I'm given four room types (A, B, C, and D) for a SNA redemption. I really would prefer "C" but I'll take B or D if C isn't available. A, for some reason, just won't work for me on this trip. Right now, there's no way for me to indicate my preference for room type "C"
A related question: if I've selected multiple types, how does the system decide which I get when my SNA is processed?

Suite Night Awards Are a Joke
IMO SNA's are a joke along with upgrades in general at SPG properties. What I mean by that is I have seen very little difference in using SNA awards vs just chancing and seeing if I get "upgraded." I've had SNA awards last year when they came out and just got them again this year (they were deposited into my account about 4 business days after I went over the 50 nights).
SPG's biggest opportunity is standardizing their upgrade policy across Starwood Properties. That would be ideal but at least across each individual brand so you know what the rules are. But at franchise properties good luck getting anything nice! I've gotten everything from an Extreme WOW suite at a W to no upgrade at all on a single night stay even though there are at least a few suites available online at 11PM while I'm checking in.
As a frequent traveler I would much rather have consistency and know what to expect rather than a crap shoot every time I check in.

At least you got the "working on your request" email. I didn't even get that the last two times I've tried using SNA's.
