Westin Atlanta Peachtree - no upgrade for me, but Lord Almighty, does this hotel need an upgrade! Pooey!

Sheraton Atlanta - my second stay here, both with no suite upgrade but I was given a corner room - is that some sort of Exec-style suite? Last month's North Tower room was a dump worthy of a Motel 6 (complete with non Sheraton approved bedding), but tonight's South Tower room is updated and much nicer (except for the strand of OPH found on the bedding).

Long series of stays, many like earlier this week where parking lot is mainly empty and nobody in lounge in morning, but in every case not only no suite, no club floor but always in the smallest of the room types on the floor where I am placed.

Since this property always has a letter and a chocolate in the room, my guess is that they plan on having zero changes, regardless of whether a better room type is available at the time of checkin and for the duration of the stay (single night in my case).

Platinum and ask every time I check in. Appears to be platinum hostile or at least platinum indifferent attitude. I stay here when I almost "have to" based on location and timing of visit the next morning, but suggest avoiding this property otherwise.

I have 8 or 9 stays here over the last couple of years and I've only been upgraded to the club level once. Almost always given the room booked.

Westin Grand Frankfurt- No upgrade given despite tons of availability on the website. On check out I had to fight to get the internet charge removed as they tried to claim the bill was from me renting porn. Very upset with the attitude especially as I've been treated pretty well on multiple previous stays.

Sheraton Anaheim Park-No upgrade but it's understandable as it's completely sold out for a trade show. They actually apologized that they couldn't put me on the club floor.

Four Points Bangkok - no upgrade, the front desk told me to check back, and I finally did when a Suite opened up, but they told me I can move there for one night before being moved again FWIW it was available for the entire duration of my stay, got told it was a "system glitch"

-about Sheraton Tarrytown

Finally I have had it. Love SPG and strongly prioritize staying at brand hotels but in this case, just cancelled my reservation for tomorrow and booked another chain's property instead.

Funny that just a few years before I received a nice letter from them listing me as one of their most frequent guests at the property, yet for the last couple of years they can't even remember that I have ever stayed before.

Message from hotel received loud and clear.

No to mention the fact that they're building a freakin grocery store in the parking lot. Very strange. They also tried to tell me starpick rates don't earn points.

It would be nice if we standardize the format of these posts so it's easier to read thru.

Perhaps something like this: And moderator can chime in.
1. name of property in title
2. What you booked originally (cash, c&p, corporate)
3. What you got instead.
4. Measures you took to facilitate a successful Suite.

and that's it. extra fluff just makes it hard to read

Ultimately people will post as they want to. Nice as it may be for a bit of standardisation, (which isn't a bad suggestion in my opinion) the circumstances and failures may not fall in to neat categories.

4. Measures you took to facilitate a successful Suite.
This thread isn't just about suites, as some hotels may not have suites in an upgrade pool, or the issue is about a lack of upgrade to a better room, let alone a suite. (e.g. Tarrytown mentioned earlier)

Thumbs down westin siray bay phuket

just checked in to this hotel

at first, they upgraded me from superior seaview room to deluxe seaview room on the prego pool wing which personally i don't think they are different at all except the size.

i asked the front desk agent about suite upgrade, she said no suite were available during my period of stay, okay, so i decided to take the lowest type superior room on the main wing instead. (i don't want to take a long walk or wait for long time for tuk tuk to pick me up.)

personally i think this property is getting worse and worse in every aspects, i've been here for at least 7 times since it opened, not because of i didn't get suite upgrade at all.

it's because of the service, the facility, the room, platinum treatment, etc. are getting below starwood hotels&resorts minimum standards everyday.

personally i'll avoid this property next time i come to phuket, as far as i can.

ps. sorry for my poor english.

Westin Atlanta Peachtree - no suite upgrade, no upgrade to a renovated room (all taken). Wow, is this hotel scary.

Sheraton Atlanta Midtown - no suite upgrade, but assigned to a corner King room in the renovated tower.

Westin Buckhead - wedding party took all the suites this weekend, so I was given a corner King room on the Club floor.

I already had a discussion with the hotel about this. Result is that only classic jr. suites are available for upgrade and one has to ask for it because according to the hotel the grand deluxe rooms (just a newer normal room but facing the river) is better.
When you want to reedeem a platin suite voucher you also get the deluxe jr. suites which are officially not part of the upgrade pool.
The deluxe suites are in the old wing of the hotel with separate entrance.

Moreover the rooms do not have the real heavenly beds as advertised.

Booked Lakeview Deluxe at Westin Michigan Av on 15 Mar for two night stay starting today (Mar 17). Checked in this afternoon and offered downgraded south facing deluxe. Asked to be given room I requested or higher category and, after a minute of typing was offered originally booked room type as an upgrade. I was in no mood to beg for an kind of real upgrade so off I went.

0/2 in year.

Four Points Times Square - booked using cash, got "normal" room, front desk said no upgrades available

Westin Moana Surfrider - booked using points, got city view facing wall, until we offered to pay up and got an ocean view vacated by guests who complained about mildew smell that didn't bother us as much
