Wow - I can't say that I'd do the same. The chances of actually being involved in a safty incident are so astronomical that I wouldn't pay 1/3 more for the ticket. Now I would pay that based on quality of service/cabin issues or FF benefits anyday.

The connection between air safety and higher fares has not been always made, convincingly. Remember "the Concorde crash"
Fares being equal, I would always choose AC over KE.
But $300, be it canadian or US, is a lot of money. At least for me.

I agree... I also would not pay 1/3 more.

Are you for real? Cheap seats only because it is in bankruptcy and scrambling for every penny it can get. In any case, AC must have a superior safety record as US has given it major overhaul and maintenance contracts for the balance of the decade, and accepted a few million of equity from AC.

Yes, the result of poor maintenance on the part of DL whose wheel assembly fell apart and left metal bits on the runway, that Concorde had the misfortune to catch upon takeoff... Before that Concorde was the only aircraft type that had never crashed, and this one was no fault of the aircraft itself.

Actually, it was a Continental DC-10 that shed a piece of metal. and the wheel assembly didn't "fall apart".
