Red face Quick CRWSTAR routing question

Is the following snippet legal in a west-bound RTW-ticket on *A:

BNE-SIN-DXB-SIN-PEK, or is DXB west of the area boundary?

tia,
A

Unfortunately, nope, it's not legal. The SIN-DXB segment is the one permitted crossing between IATA3 and IATA2.
(The rough line that seperates them runs south down the Ural Mountains, then between Iran & Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan with IATA2 to the left of that line and IATA 3 to the right. It then basically runs straight down the 60 degree line to Antartica.)

Cheers.

Strange, I called SAS, and spoke in person to someone at their RTW-desk and they said it was OK.

What would happen if the ticket gets issued, would SQ then stop me in SIN on my way to DXB, or would I get away with it once it's issued?

If you can find one of the carriers that will issue it, then go for it !! ^
I doubt anything would be picked up on it in the normal course of check-in etc, unless you needed to get the ticket reissued for whatever reason. In that case, if the error is then picked up at reissue, the carrier doing that may not reissue it, referring you back to the original carrier of issue, or they'll get you to rectify your routing before they do any sort of reissue.

Cheers.

I would venture to say - based on experience, not my own but others that even if you might get away with it initially, SQ is currently spending a lot of time chasing any mistakes and they will simply take what is left of your ticket once they discover it and or charge you for any irregularity - if your are on a F STAR this can become rather costly - because SQ will add a lot of Oneway fares for the routes that you have taken.

I am sure others can report of better things - but it is up for everybody himself to make his decisons that are based on others mistakes.

Cheers

It's going to be in C-class, but I found out I could more easily solve it by gettign the sidetrip orginated in BKK than DXB, which leaves me with more miles to squander on my RTW

Currently I'm needing to pass through LHR, PDX, BNE, SIN and PEK on my trip in that order, and I'm trying to fit in what I need on that trip, currently I'm trying to fit it all in whilst corssing the pacific on NH to get a taste of their services.

The sidetrip is to JRO (and hen into the bush), and Ethiopian flies BKK-ADD-JRO for about 800GBP in D-class and I'm not expecting first class service it will get me a comfy chair; according to amadeus Ethiopian are flying both 764's and 73W's so they must have a lot of new equipement
