Refund on STAR RTW ticket

It depends on what RTW ticket you have and if the ticket is partly used or not. I believe if the first segment has not yet been flown, you're eligble for a full refund minus some sort of service charge. Sometimes this could be the first continent.
If the ticket has begun already, I think it's much more difficult for a refund. I think they'll calculate each segment you've flown as a one-way ticket, add them all up; then give you back the difference. Of course, it depends on the type of RTW ticket.

here are the cancellation rules for StarAlliance-rtw-tickets:
* Cancellation prior to departure and ticketing deadline: full refund
* Prior to departure but after ticket issuance:
** sales ex USA, Canada, Central and South America: refund the fare less 10%
** sales ex Europe, Africa, Asia, Austria: full refund

and tfung was right about his prediction on refunds of partly used Star RTWs.
If you started on your ticket, you take the individual one-way fares and subtract it from the RTW price. If you travelled enough, you might owe them money for a refund!
