Nope, just like I mentioned in post #7, I had looked into the past 30 days for SYD-ICN, there were only 2 days had QS AVOD.[/QUOTE]

My first preference is OZ with the QS seats. If its possible then i will take it im very flexible can go anytime really in may/june. Problem is booking an award flight SYD-ICN-CDG what chances of me getting FOUR (4) seats on the same plane with the QS seats.

Can anyone find availability?

How can i tell if the aircraft that im booked on has the QS configuration?

You can tell a couple hours before when you know which plane flew ICN-SYD.

Its a tiny bit better than that. You can tell a few days out that seatmaps change. No guarantee but a very good indicator.

Two points here,

1) There is no way of telling this far out what aircraft you will get. Even in the last few days, it can still change and the airline are not under any obligation to give you a specfic seat type.

2) The TG fully flat seat on the BKK-CDG route is NOT suitable for travelling with small children, as it is a herring bone layout. It is designed for the single traveller who wants privacy.

But that still leaves out last minute equipment swaps. The only time you can be sure is when you know which plane will show up in SYD (and even then, it could go mechanical and a new plane could show up...)

I haven't been on the TG herringbone flights but MicroDUF has done 50 or so flights on other airlines with a similar layout. You can do this even with small children. The key is that you need one adult next to the child and the other adult opposite the child so he can look into the seat from across the aisle.

Of course you are right. Thats why I said its only an indicator not a guarantee.

But the OP has 2 children to worry about. Also since its a night flight presumably they want to get some sleep. On the 77W layout, if the child wakes up in the middle of the night it cannot see anyone and will get a bad fright. It would be far better to take a different option to Europe IMHO.

I like both TG and OZ, but I'd say OZ has the edge from me. OZ is the only NE Asia carrier that can give NH a run for its money as best in the region imo (CX doesn't count). ICN is a much better airport than BKK, but wouldn't it be an inconvenient detour to go through ICN not to mention the overnight connection? I'd rather go through a usual Kangaroo Route airport like SIN, HKG or BKK. TG pretty much always has good award availability so I'd go with them simply for saving time unless you want to do an ICN stopover and see a bit of Korea.
